Tracfone LG L442BG 3G Prepaid Phone

The price was sensational - a little over $13 delivered. Delivery was fast. I like a small flip phone for ease of use AND because you don't have to pull out an expensive smart phone. This phone doubles the minutes so I use a 3 month plan and got 60 x 2 minutes = 120 minutes (2 hours) with a separate, new phone number. I can add minutes or more time as I want. I use this for short calls. I doubt I will use the present minutes. I have it with me all the time but only give out the number to close family. I have smart phones, but sometimes they are a pain to carry and pull out if you have gone to the grocery and forgot your list or you want to make a short call to tell someone you will be on time or late. You can carry this one easily when out walking, doing yard work, painting the porch, etc. If you lose it, all that is on it is Tracfone minutes. I can one-hand this phone and the numbers are clear. It has a real keypad. Smartphones are great for their real use but if I lose or break or get this one wet, I just buy another (already have) and go on the Tracfone website and put this one on the old number, capture the old minutes left, and maybe put more on. It runs about $6.5 per month for one of these figuring the overall costs of minutes and amortizing the phone over 2 years. If you are a heavy phone user you should research other deals. I carry both a smart and simple phone. I prefer this little one for any fast call. I do not watch vids on the smartphone except on wifi and do not do gaming. I also use Hangouts on the smartphone.

This seems to be a good, simple cell phone, able to place and receive telephone calls at a reasonable cost.

I went thru two different phones trying to find one that would work for my husband who is 78 . All he has ever used was a flip phone (my old one).He did not need anything except being able to make and receive calls for emergency's. So was getting the phones at a big store but both would not work with sending and receiving. I decided to go with this LG flip phone as that is what we were using for years. I was very nervous about it picking up Verizon signal, but was happily surprised that it is working great. he had like over 1400 minutes on the other phone that needed to be transferred, I took the new phone into the store I was having issues with the other two phones. They were kind enough to get the minutes and to get the phone activated for me. This phone will even take a picture, It is a super phone for the money!!!You cannot go wrong with this phone if you want just a nice basic phone,which does more then we even need!

Although the product description claims to include activation card and up to 3.6 hours of talk time (see cut and paste below), it was absolutely not included. Deceptive and inconvenient, highly disappointing. I replaced my older and similar LG 420G with this updated model. Either a few keys or an outdated SIM card on my old phone started to become problematic after 7-8 years of use. And that includes the same number of years of getting bumped around while sitting in the saddle bag of my bicycle while I'm out on the roads.It comes with an AC charger and Lithium battery, and I did not have any problems associated with transferring my remaining days and minutes of service from my old phone. The software has been improved on the 442G and is simpler to use, not that it was terrible before. There was only one flip phone sold directly by Tracfone on their web-site for my area in Connecticut and I didn't like it for a number of reasons. One of them, unlike this phone, was that it did not display remaining minutes and days of service. That said, for some reason, it took Tracfone tech reps about 30 minutes to activate this phone, but they eventually got it working. Their on-line activation did not work when I tried. But all and all, I was very happy with my older LG model and this one seems even better, with a somewhat larger screen. Finally, although it was somewhat difficult to find, I was ultimately able to locate and purchase a 12 volt car charger for this phone on Amazon. It's for an LG 442BG model but it seems to work.

You have to buy a plan (cheapest on TracFone website is $11 for 69 minutes) Phone was easy to set up once I bought the minutes. I needed it that's why I'm keeping it, otherwise I would have returned it. Does the job

I've recharged the battery maybe 12 times since purchasing...the battery stays charged for 4-5 days which is great. Very easy to use of course. I had a flip phone years ago....lost it in the washing machine then picked up a smart-phone which I did not like at all, I was so glad to find this one still available. I only use the phone for emergency or convenient contact so this works out much better for me. The sound is typical of a flip phone which is fine.

I'm 81 years old and have had three LG flip phones over the last 10 years or so. I used the phones for what they were made for, making phone calls! I tried smart phones but decided that they are smarter than me. I see the advantage of getting online using using WIFI to reduce the use of minutes. Is there any way to get WIFI on this phone? If so I would give it a five star rating. I do not understand your reasoning to cancel my service on the earlier phones, they ran on CDMA and at least two were 3G all of which is in this new phone. The last LG flip phone had on line access .I like the ability to take pictures and video on the LG L442MG 3G TracFone and haven't found the minimal memory available a problem. It just drives you to transfer pictures and video more often. It talks to you, which can help with trying to see the small screen with old eyes. Here's hoping that you do not cancel this service too soon,
