Sturdy and works well
I had forgotten about this tripod till I was searching my old orders for binoculars. Bought it in 2015 and left it at my old place. It's very sturdy and lightweight. I it's collapsible and easy to adjust. It was less expensive than the stores I looked up. It works well with the Celestron 80mmx20 Astro binoculars. It was sturdy and even the carrying case was good quality. If you follow the directions you would really enjoy this.

Good Value For The Price
Really nice tripod for the money. Lots of adjustment factors, sturdily built without being too heavy to move around quickly and easily. I've got a fairly heavy viewing scope with a long lens on it (for birds and landscape, from my mountain home), so sometimes I have to ratchet down the vertical axis adjustment pretty aggressively to get and keep a given field of view, but for what I spent I'm very content. I also have a house full of bulldogs who are *NOT* the most graceful beasts on the planet - they tend to pick a spot to stand or sit or lie down, and MOVE whatever might be in their way when they do it. So I've seen this thing get bumped and shifted pretty hard, with my heart in my throat, thinking my viewing scope was about to take a tumble, but so far, so good - not even a close call. Nice product, shipped fast.

Great for Spotting Scope and Birding.
This tripod is what I was looking for. I use an Orion spotting scope for birding and target shooting. I was using an old Targus TGT-58TR tripod that we had from an old video camera set up but the Targus wouldn't hold the heavy spotting scope steady because of the head design (see pic) there is a large gap between the mount and the body of the head that, while it held our little video camera just fine, wouldn't hold the heavier spotting scope without a lot of wiggle and wobble. The Barska tripod head, while also plastic, doesn't have the large gap which makes it much much more stable. Stability is important when using a 60x zoom. Pros- Inexpensive. Works for what I want. Holds spotting scope stable. Con- Vertical adjustment is a little creaky and jerky when panning. I think I can help smooth it out with a good cleaning of the mechanism and some lithium grease. But it doesn't impact what I use it for, so no problem. The head and knobs are made of high impact plastic, but at this price that is to be expected. Overall - for the price, I'm really happy with this tripod. It holds my spotting scope steady without the wiggle and wobble of the Targus. If you want professional smoothness in panning control go spend hundreds of dollars on a pro set up. If you are looking for a light weight, inexpensive aluminum and plastic tripod that will hold your equipment steady, I can highly recommend this Barska tripod.

The tripod I'd used before was good, but not nearly as stable as this one
I got this tripod to support a heavy set of Astronomy binoculars. The tripod I'd used before was good, but not nearly as stable as this one. My tripod adapter fits perfectly, as do the binoculars. I've tried this whole setup out and was delighted at the results. I like that I can now track objects much more easily with this tripod. I like the sturdy construction. I find it very easy to use this tripod and like I said, the unit is very stable with the binoculars sitting on the tripod with an adapter. The sole reason for me buying this tripod was for use with these heavy type binoculars, but could see this tripod coming in very handy on nature trips just using my camera. It comes with a very handy carrying case. I expect to make wider use of this tripod in the future. I'd encourage anyone interested in a sturdy tripod to look closely at this one - it should fulfill your needs. Enthusiastic thumbs up!

Good for the price
I bought this for a set of binoculars that I use for Astronomy, and needed something inexpensive. The binoculars, which are awesome, are Celestron SkyMaster 20x80 Binoculars . The tripod itself is nice, stable, and works great on a table. The mount looks and feels cheap, however, and the weight of the binoculars may be too much for it. The mount is all plastic, and I broke the level that raises and lowers the mounting bracket that connects to the camera/binoculars. No matter how I work to tighten the mounting for the binoculars, I get a loose-fitting wiggle. If this item was purchased for a camera, the wobble in the mount might not be as noticeable. There are two levels on the mount to assist in making sure that a camera is level, but this feature for my binoculars was not needed. If you are going to use this for a large pair of binoculars, I'd suggest that you look at something with a sturdier mounting bracket. The good about the item is that the legs are stable, well made and light. The extensions are stable as well. I used this during the Venus Transit on June 6, 2012 and even when people bumped into the tripod it did not tip over. The unit is light weight and would be perfect for someone with a camera who just wants to have a tripod on hand.

I feel this is an excellent product. I have used the tripod to mount ...
For the price, I feel this is an excellent product. I have used the tripod to mount a set of adjustable Nikon binoculars and have been very pleased with the utility. The height is tall enough to have the binocs at eye level so I don't have to bend down for long periods. The leg adjustments are simple and work well enough to easily level the tripod on uneven surfaces. The pan and tilt adjustments are a bit plastic feeling and you know this isn't a high end product however taking into consideration the price, I feel they are perfectly acceptable.

this tripod is very sturdy. And
With a Barska Astronomical Binoculars, this tripod is a must. The weight of the binoculars makes it difficult to zero in on an item in the sky. The tripod makes this task easier by far. Also, this tripod is very sturdy. And, by removing the feat, it has spikes for soft ground to steady the tripod. Also, this tripod sells at a reasonable price. You can't lose purchasing this tripod. Uncommon quick release plate size.
I've been trying to find another quick release plate that is the same size so I can interchange devices but other than 1 on ebay for $50 including shipping plus taxes I am unable to find one and the Barska store on amazon has no support!
