crappy battery life
The battery is terrible, barely lasting a few minutes worth of cell time before it's more than half drained and when the battery dies, it gives no warning, you're just stuck with an incomplete call and a dead battery.

The phone did not work. I sent it to my brother in CA and it did not work. He called Consumer Cellular to make sure everything was in place. Still no luck. Mary Kruskamp

A good phone if you never have to actually use it !
This is not a review of CONSUMER CELLULAR or a seller of these phones; just the phone itself. I have had this phone for 2weeks and I totally dislike it ! I wanted a flip-style phone because I work in a machine shop and I need a unit that I can just put in my back pocket and forget about; a smart phone is too bulky and would 'catch' on things if I wore it on a side holster. My last Sprint flip phone lasted me 4 years and never gave me any real issues. Good reception everywhere and very reliable. THIS phone does not pick up a signal at my home (even though my 2 other Consumer Cellular smart phones work fine). It does not work well in my shop and it has a rather short battery life. Plus it has a "cheap" feel to it, like a child's play phone you buy in the Dollar Store. The 2 halves fit together real nice and tight; great for a car door or trunk lid, but lousy for a unit if you want to open it with one hand [like you can do with other, better quality flip phone!] I am returning this phone this week and getting a smart phone from Consumer; I didn't want to but it looks like that is the only value phone that will work in the most situations for me.

Going to get a different phone
I purchased the Envoy form Consumer Cellular as I didn't know I might get one on Amazon where I prefer to shop. I am now on Amazon shopping for another phone. Consumer Cellular says I can get any phone I want that is unlocked, has SIM and GSM compatibility. They will provide they SIM Card. I was so glad to see that i wasn't the only one who thought the manual was inadequate. I even watched the videos which were very general and didn't go in depth on features. The online manual is not completely for this model. I suspect it was for a previous model. So I am returning the phone, without a better manual it is too much trouble. When I call CC for help with it the waits are way too long. I am going to get another phone.

Great basic wireless for seniors and casual users.
This is a basic phone for people who like to send and receive calls. Great lighting and enough features for the casual user. Easy to read numbers (they are standard sized) The setup was easy, and it only took a few calls to get used to the new phone. I use about 150 minutes a month, talk only. Texting and other features are optional. The ring and earpiece volume could be better or I would give this 5 stars. Customer service is very friendly, and a small issue was quickly resolved.Bottom line: For $15 plus tax I get 250 minutes a month of good, basic wireless service. If that's all you need, I highly recommend you check out Consumer Cellular. It's a terrific value.

No luck with it. Do not buy.
I have had this phone for weeks and I still can't get it to do the things it's supposed to. I paired it with my Mac, and with my car's UConnect hand's free system, but it just keeps disconnecting. I'm going to send it back to Consumer Cellular...that leaves me with NO cell phone.
