First, I do not normally comment on products. I expect things to be right with any product. No comment to me means the product was satisfactory. However. I will make an exception with this product. I read about this cot on line. Claims were: easy to open and fold, check; sturdy and well made, check; and very comfortable being 6 foot 6 inches long and 31 inches wide, check. Quality of workmanship and the absence of protruding metal just stood out when ready to use. Our church has a girls camp in the mountains. Adult female leaders stay with the girls in small barracks style cabins. Church leaders ask a few adult males to bring their tents and sleeping bags, and stay in designated areas away from the cabins to assist with physical type help. I am almost 71 years old, so my comforts in a tent are important to me. I ordered the cot on a Tuesday. Was supposed to be there on Friday. Came on Thursday. Went to the mountains on Monday, and had my test. I have slept on cots in the military and at other times. Never comfortable even when I was younger. Byer of Maine nailed this puppy. I slept extremely well. I move a lot, first on back, then both sides. No bumping metal on sides; no banging head or feet on the ends. Once set up, it does not move. I have no stock in Byer of Maine, and not compensated in any way. Just super happy with this product. So, lets see, easy set up and take down, very sturdy and well made, and as comfortable as a cot can be. Remember, this is not your master bedroom king bed. That said, I did sleep very well, nothing keeping me awake. One nit to pick, but not about the cot. The box was damaged in shipping. It was smashed like a baseball bat hit it toward the end of one side of the box. It had me concerned until I opened up the box. It was double boxed by the way. The impression went through the second box as well, but fortunately, there seemed to be no damage to the cot itself, a testament to Byer of Maine packaging. Again, not a nit to pick with the product, only those who were shipping. Come on shipping folks, you can do better. If you want an easy to set up cot that is also well made and super comfortable, I recommend you just buy it. BTW, I saved $10 through Amazon.

EDIT: I found a workaround!!! Instead of trying to flip it over straight like in the video, flip it over tented. Then pull the 2 legs out (head and foot of cot) one by one. It's much faster and easier if you're on a smooth surface instead of grass and carpet. I still wish it had a way to lock the length that folds in half so you could just unfold, lock into place and flip it over the way the woman does in the video on ANY surface. With my new method of setting it up however, I'd say even a gangly preteen could do it all on their own with no assistance whatsoever. As for the wobbly middle leg, now that it's been worn in, it no longer wobbles. I'd say this is a 5 star product, I love it, it's quicker to set up than any other cot I've seen. OLD REVIEW: Disappointed in ease of setup but I like the cot. I have both minor and major complaints and a couple things I like about this cot. Minor complaints: One- Middle support legs are VERY wobbly and I have no idea how to tighten that or if it's even possible. Two: I've slept on it one night thus far and I have no fear that it will collapse while I'm on it, weight keeps it completely steady. BUT because there's no locking mechanism whatsoever, trip and bump into the head or foot of the cot, it starts to go into collapse mode. If it slides on the floor when you bump it there's no problem. BUT if the foot/leg on the opposite side from where you bumped ends up stubbing against something, it starts to fold slightly and will collapse if you try to sit/lay on it without stretching it out fully again. So beware. Three: Sagging. If you're a back sleeper the cot is comfortable as is (I'm speaking from the perspective of a short and light weight person). I however got this to put my trifold mattress on top of. There's very significant and noticable sagging if you use thick padding on top of this cot, so I used a dense 1 inch thick yoga mat under the 4" firm trifold mattress to fill the sag gap. The sagging is at least bearable now. I intend to get a sheet of wood to set over the cot, drill holes in the wood to tie it down to the frame of the cot, and then put the mattress on that. Because over time this will certainly break down my mattress and I intend to use this on a permanent basis but move it during the day. I expect that a 100+ pound person would experience worse issues with sagging so be aware. MAJOR complaint: It is NOT easy like the video shows. At all. When you lift the cot up by its side as shown in the video, it expands BUT soon as you try to flip it over like the lady did, it caves in on itself. It's a game of luck. You might get it right once out of 8 tries. In the video it seems to appear to lock in place somewhat when she lifts it up, in order for her to be able to turn it over. I don't know if mine is defective or not, or if it's because I'm a small person, but mine does NOT do that. I have to make at least 10 attempts to get this thing set up. Which means I may as well have bought a cheaper one which would take less time to set up than this. I'll try to find a hack for keeping the cot open when trying to flip it over, then update my review. Only get this if you are very strong and have a lot of patience to try over and over again. Likes: One- Though this won't be important to campers, on a hardwood/laminate floor it scoots EXTREMELY easily if you want to push it somewhere. This is helpful for me. It doesn't scoot when I roll over or shift my weight in bed. But if I want to push myself away from the wall so I can plug my charger into the outlet it takes very very little force at all to do so. For reference I have the Milliard trifold 4" mattress on top (31"×75") and a 1" thick yoga mat underneath it. Two- It's the perfect height and it's the height of an average bed if you put a 4" mattress on it. So you don't have to feel like you're compromising when it comes to height. What I LOVE about the cot: It is EXTREMELY easy to fold and put away. Turn it on its side and it collapses to form a "T" Push the two end legs to the middle and that's all. Takes all of 3-4 seconds. Fits into the bag perfectly with wiggle room. I don't have to fight this heavy thing into the bag at all. No stuffing, compressing, having to hold the stuff down while I zip etc. Smooth sailing. All in all I like it. I just wish it were easier to set up. I don't entirely regret my purchase, it does what a cot is supposed to do. But I will have to change how I intended to use it simply because of how extremely difficult it is to get it set up. Strong, tall and patient people should get this, they won't have a problem.
