Dremel 12V3 Lithium-Ion Replacement Battery (12V 3Ah Battery - Accessory for Dremel Multifunction Tool 8260)

To start I want to make a very important point, this battery will ONLY 'physically fit' the 8260. Look at the pictures of the 2 batteries and you will see they look totally different. On the "About this item" on the Amazon web page, it states : 1) "This battery pack is suitable to use with the Dremel 8200 and 8220" - WRONG , it won't fit ! 2) "Featuring 2Ah for increased battery capacity - WRONG, it is a larger capacity at 3Ah, 50% more ! I have both the 8220 and then newer 8260, and the batteries are both physically NOT interchangeable ! For me it is essential to have 'at least' one spare battery for ANY battery device I own, that way I know I won't get half way through a job, only having to stop until I recharge the battery again, maybe 2-3 hours or more, that would be intolerable to me, and really the only disadvantage over a mains powered devices which you don't need to recharge the battery, but I am slowly replacing all my mains powered devices (only 2 to go !) to battery versions, safer (no trailing mains cable with 240v) and much more convenient to use for a start. Having had a bad experience with a 3rd party battery (the 'only' 3rd party one I have ever bought - i a moment of weakness), in that it exploded and caught fire whilst being charged, but I was in the room when it happened, otherwise there would have definitely been a fire - so lesson learnt there - and now I ONLY buy the manufacturers 100% genuine battery, even if it cost more. Dremel batteries like other manufacturers produce first class batteries, and as I have 3 for my 8220, and they get lots of use, and still charge to 100 capacity, I see no reason why this battery should be any different. Price wise, at the moment (as of 26 June 2023) this battery costs £5.65 more then the 2.0Ah version, so you get 50% more capacity for just another £5.65, can't be bad ! With the genuine battery you literally have the 'peace of mind, knowing that Dremel have done everything in their power (forgive the unintentional pun !) to providing you with a reliable and more importantly safe battery, for for me that is priceless. Conclusion : You get what you pay for, and I trust this battery 100%, knowing I will be safe and it will live up to my expectations in every way i.e. no dramas ! I have no connection with Dremel whatsoever, except that I and a very happy customer and I speak of my own genuine experiences with products. I hope this review will be of help if you are considering buying this battery.

Useful as a 2nd battery to extend the Dremel’s working time on my yacht.

This was my second order - DREMEL make two look-alikes but they do no cross-fit. I have found you need two batteries to make a cordless Dremel viable or you will have a lot of down-time waiting for a charge-up.

Spare battery for the 8260 cordless dremel, it does what it says on the box..
