Johnson Pump 3001.4386 09-47163-01 Impeller Puller for 09-821BT

I use this to pull the raw water impellers from my Yanmar 6LYA-STP diesels. It comes with a 40mm long M10x1.5 bolt. This will pull an impeller out only a half inch or so. I replaced the bolt with one 80mm long to more fully extract my 80mm deep impellers. Note that this will only work on newer style impellers that have splines threaded for it.

Worked well, but for the price you shouldn’t have to go out and buy a longer bolt to get the impeller all the way out.

Jacking bolt was too short

Wrong size short bolt bad product.

It threads into the impeller. We purchased a longer bolt to completely remove the impeller from the shaft. We used the threaded bushing during installation of the new impeller! Easy, time and cost effective!

The bolt should be longer, but it is easily replaced.

If this puller fits your pump it is worlds better than those pullers that grab from the sides. One thing I did is get a longer screw so you can get the impeller virtually totally out with no tugging! It’s a life saver in tight places like my engine room!!

Not the right size even though it said it was for my boats Volvo impeller.
