Paradise Herbs & Essentials Banaba Leaf Extract 250 mg, 180 Capsules

I've struggled with fasting blood sugars in the 120–130 mg/dL range postpartum. I didn't change my diet, exercise routine, or anything else. The only thing I added was Banaba leaf, and for the first time my fasting glucose dropped below 100 mg/dL (94 mg/dL). Of course, this is only my personal experience and not medical advice, but I was pleasantly surprised by the change.

I've only taken one capsule so far, and I know I should have waited a little longer to post a review because I'm sure the results would be even more spectacular, but I can't help but share the positive results with you now. Wow, this stuff really does work to lower my blood sugar! Just before taking my first capsule, I tested my blood sugar level and it was at 270 all morning. Without taking this suppliment, that level would have only come down to about 240 at best by the late afternoon/early evening, and it would have taken all day of not eating to achieve that. That should give you a good idea as to where I'm at with my blood sugar. For the record, I am not, nor have I even been on medications to control my blood sugar (by choice), so my results are just strictly from the Banaba Leaf suppliment. I took one capsule and retested my blood levels 1 hour later. It came down to 207! After 2 hours, it came down to 184! I had lunch (some ham and cheese, no bread, and glass of crystal light iced tea) and took my levels again 2 hours later, and it went down to 168! There's no way I could have achieved these results without taking this capsule. Not even cinnamon capsules have worked nearly as good as this. For it to have such a positive effect on me just after taking only one, I can't wait to see how well it does after a couple of weeks of taking it daily. I realize everyone's body is different, so results are certainly going to vary, but so far this natural suppliment has produced the best results for me more than any other natural remedy I've tried. I will definitely continue to purchase this product and continually monitor my levels more closely to see how it works out over the long-term. If you are taking presription medications to lower your blood sugar, I would strongly suggest consulting with your doctor before taking this suppliment (be sure to tell them the strength of the dosage), as the two combined could potentially drop your blood sugar to hypoglycemic levels. The good news is that with proper diet, exercise, and this suppliment, you should have no problem getting off your medication, but again, this should be done only under a medical doctors recommendation and supervision. It took a long time for deivery. I have only had it less than a week but it is helping.

This works (for me, an actual type 2 diabetic for many years) better than a first line medication. If your doctor is talking to you about starting metformin or you're already on a dosage ~2000mg/day and it's not working as well as it used to years ago, talk to your doctor about starting a new medication that doesn't scare you (so many diabetes drugs wind up on tv commercials for lawsuits later so I understand this fear)... or make a plan to be more aggressive with your diet and exercise, and get medical advice about using banaba leaf in addition to metformin or whichever first line med you're on. I can't speak for those who aren't pre or actual type 2 diabetics using it for weight loss. Sidenote: When doctors prescribe the newer heavy-duty diabetes drugs for non-diabetics (Ozempic and the like classes) for the off-label use of weight loss, know that it threatens the supply of these for people who actually need them and it's a dire situation right now; and that, because those medications currently have no generics and won't for a set time period due to patent laws and regulatory issues, those doctors make money from pharma companies by prescribing them to you. Check out the user reviews on sites wherein people describe ER visits and graphic changes in quality of life after taking those medications for off-label weight loss use and ask yourself if shedding weight is worth your long term health and quality of life. I'd wager straight up cocaine is safer than some of those, and I choose banaba leaf and a more rigorous change in daily nutrition and exercise plan than risk using them. Your mileage may vary!
