You will have to take them to your local locksmith and have them cut at an additional cost.Furthermore, and as you'll find elsewhere on the net, IF you have only one key for the vehicle, you will be forced to take your vehicle to the dealer and have them program a 2nd key. However, the good news is that once you have a minimum of 2 programmed keys for the vehicle, you can then easily program any extra key from the 3rd key on up, with the instructions that come with the key(s). Self-programming takes about 30 seconds per key, tops.Prior to purchasing them here from Discount Keyless, our dealer wanted $96 each, so this was a significant savings from the dealer's price. Since we wanted 2 keys, at the dealer, this meant $192 just for blank keys. Ridiculous, no? ... Luckily the dealer was out of stock on the keys for our vehicle, so we found them here. BTW, we are overseas, and not stateside.Also, the local dealer wanted $80 to program ea. key. So it will get pricey if you just have one key. If you are just down to 2 keys, I'd suggest getting at least a 3rd spare key in case you lose one and this way, in case you do lose one, you'll avoid the high programming cost dealers throw at you.Continuing ... can you imagine, 2 blanks keys, $192, 2 extra keys programmed, $160, and the key cuts were was $16 per key (you'll see why below). So that was $32 for 2 key cuts ... so, at the dealer's price, it would have been, $192 + $160 + $32 = $384 ... for 2 keys??? Yikes!!!Also, I would suggest asking your local locksmith, or hardware store, what their cost for cutting a transponder key would be. The locksmith may charge you a percentage of the actual total cost of the key, in case they ruin your transponder key and have to reimburse you if they mess it up, or at least, ours did ... charged us 80% of the value of the key for the cut.Hope that helps! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It works and I saved big bucks! *by K***K on September 13, 2013* The shipment arrived on time. The package also included instructions on how-to program the transponder key. The programming process was quick and easy; taking less than two minutes. After going the do-it-yourself route I realized how much money I saved because taking my Explorer to the local dealer for the same work would have cost me over $200.00; what a rip-off. I recommend that you order the transponder key, program it yourself, then go out and have a nice dinner with the money that you will save :-). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good buy *by S***R on October 2, 2013* If you need a spare key, this works good. If you only have one key and this is your second key, It will cost about $50 to get it cut and programed. Otherwise, if you already have two keys and this is a third key you can get it cut at a hardware store and program it yourself for about $5.
