For those who've never experienced the high intensity attraction of Rare Earth Neodymium magnetism, you're in for a surprise treat as to the tenacious gripping power of these dynamic magnets. First of all, let me explain the significance of what "Rare Earth" means in the vendor's above description. Rare-Earth magnets are powerful magnets made from alloys of rare-earth metal elements. They're the strongest type of magnets known to man! Developed by the U.S. Air Force in 1966, its exotic name is derived from the fact that it's existence is relatively scarce to miners around the Globe. China, with its vast geological mineral resources, is by far the World's leading producer of this relatively rare mineral phenomenon. By now in today's World, Rare Earth derived Neodymium is commercially available for consumption by the general public for various forms of application - - hence the Neodymium ring style being reviewed herein. As my Amazon buyer history will verify, I've purchased no fewer than three of these items over a relatively short time span. No better way to declare my full belief in this item than those multiple re-orders! This is because I've found new ways to put these magnetic marvels to work. While they're typically marketed on Amazon for craft/home type applications, I've also found them useful for my own personal "magnetic joint therapy." Although no scientific proof exists as to the therapeutic benefits of such, I've found these rings useful for placement on fingers and toes for joint strengthening - - as these powerful magnets seem to stimulate blood circulation, thus improving my movement dexterity in these hand and foot appendages. This is just a personal use preference and not necessarily a suggestion for others to try; only trying to illustrate some of the the hidden potential of these magnetic dynamos. As my Amazon buying record will also reveal, I've also acquired other forms of Neodymium magnets which I've found quite handy around the house and in my garage workshop. Of note: In the event you purchase several pieces of this item as I did, DO NOT attempt to allow them to come within close proximity of one another as they will stick together in such a powerful grip that you'll never be able to free them from one another - -unless you wish to spend additional money to buy a relatively pricey, dedicated magnet separation tool that'll cost you more than double the original price you paid for the magnet. I use the word "dedicated" in the foregoing statement as reference to the fact that this device has no other use than to separate round/circular shaped magnets. In this World of so many specialized products, I still find it astonishing that something so specific to a single, sole application - - with such limited use potential - - is even produced. In finality, I think the overall, succinct, general best-use description of this product is in the seller's actual words in his Amazon ad: "numerous applications: useful magnets for holding, home improvement, DIY projects and much more...." I couldn't have said it any better! 5 stars all the way.

EXCELLENT quality! POWERFUL. Perfectly-tooled, and: 'finished'. Nice packaging; nestled in a small box, with thick Styrofoam layers protecting them from breakage. The magnetic orientation is perpendicular-to the 'plane' of the ring; It will be a fascinating addition to my own: 'spherical magnetic' experiments. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Good for attaching the magnet in my garden hose. The grass is growing real good. Nice and green.

This magnet is perfect. It's about strongest you would ever want to put on a keyring or maybe a bit too strong for it. It's not destructively strong to an extent that you would need to treat it with extreme care, but at the same time it is strong enough to hold rather heavy objects. It could hold a 3 lbs wrench by touching its flat end with magnet's rounded side, and the wrench does not fall off when I shake it by the magnet. If you want something to use for fishing magnetic junk out of a lake, but not squish your fingers between magnet and random steel wall on the way there, this is a good size to get.

If you are in the need of a strong, static and toroidal magnetic field (*not* a field from a toroidal coil) then these are your U(1) babies!

This very strong magnet was well packaged for travel. It arrived one day after ordering (gotta love Amazon Logistics!). While it comfortably fits on any finger, it is too bulky to attempt to wear it as a standard finger ring. All together, this is a very nice item at a great price, sold and shipped by a company that does it right.

These are really fun to play with and are wicked strong. I bought three. If they get too close and come together, not only can they give you a painful pinch, they are almost impossible to get apart. I had to use my vice and cracked one.

Great item to have in the shop or toolbox to catch metal chips when drilling steel. Wish it worked on aluminum too!
