No this only goes on the back of the puzzle.

How can I glue the puzzle to a cardboard piece after I applied the sheets?

I use Mod Podge glue on the puzzle itself. It won't hurt anything to try it on cardboard.

how do i flip over the puzzle to apply product?

The easiest way is to slip a piece of cardboard under the puzzle and also lay one on top. Use sturdy pieces of cardboard. Make sure the pieces of cardboard are larger that the puzzle. Then put one hand under the puzzle and one on top and flip. Lift off the the cardboard that is now on top and apply the puzzle saver sheets. Once they are applied the puzzle will be surprisingly sturdy enough to flip back over. I used this on a 1000 piece puzzle and had no problems. (I put my puzzle together on a stiff piece of felt that is designed for doing puzzles. I'm sure I bought that on Amazon as well.) If you don't feel confident flipping the puzzle by yourself have someone help you.
