Easy to assemble, very sturdy, perfect replacement fit. Does increase overall height of chair if that's an issue.

The loadbearing structure being of all steel construction this is considerably stronger than my original. Assembled, fitted and in use within 20 minutes. Appears approx 25mm higher than my original which in my case is an added bonus and SO much cheaper than replacing a comfortable and otherwise reliable chair.

It comes in parts, so a little assembly is required. It's really heavy duty and you can see the quality in it. Unfortunately I had to return it, as I forgot to check how high it is, and I couldn't sit on my chair as it was too tall for my desk and my feet didn't touch the floor.

Ive had this for a month or three now, and so far its holding up good! Assembly was easy enough (bit difficult to slide the feet over the legs at times). Considering im nearly 19 stone and its still holding up strong... I cant complain :)

Dislike did not find a mention that this is a self assembled unit comes as central hub the 5 legs hub cover and 10 bolts and an Allen key and instruction leaflet. First read instructions silly I know but if you try and slide the legs onto the hub as they will fit they don't much swearing followed turned the leg to the side and it slides straight on and you rotate it to the correct fit. And yes it clearly shows this in the instructions apoligies sent up to follow the swearing. As this is all painted I did check that all the holes would accept the bolts a couple where a tad slow to bite so it was a worthwhile step. I also fitted the feet before before I dropped the base on the shaft. The base looks good assembled and dropped over the old shaft without any problem I hope the heavy duty bit holds as I'm 6' 8" and 21stone so we shall see. Overall the hardest part of this task for me was getting the old base of the shaft and that was a job and a half and no fault of the new base.

Had to buy this as previous 2 plastic versions that came directly from chair manufacturer both broke within 14 months. This metal version was easy to put together and easy to install. Chair is back to full use better than before.

One leg on my GT-OMEGA chair cracked eventually broke completely off. Just replaced with this base instead of buying a replacement GT-Omega base as the GT is made from an Aluminium mix, made in a mould, where as this is Steel!. Super easy to put together...legs might need a little tap to go on as they are slightly tight, but thats GOOD! you dont want chair legs with baggy tolerances ;). Also the legs are approx 3cm longer, so slightly more stable too!, very pleased :)

I am a large chap and I keep breaking the cheap star bases. The aluminium ones snap and the plastic ones keep breakign at the wheel mounts. I was suprised when this one turned up in parts. You have to mount the legs to the hub with 2 screws. It takes a couple fo minutes anbd its so rubust. Well worth the money. This will be the last star base you ever order.

El pedido llego en el tiempo estimado y en buen estado. Fue fácil de armar. Hasta ahora no he tenido problemas con la base. El material se ve de buena calidad y resistente hasta el momento. Nota: Le agrega más altura a la silla

So thankful that I bought this product. Was able to fix a chair that I paid a lot of money on but the wheel base was not up to standard, had to replace it within the first year I bought it and the replacement did not last very long. Have no fears that this base will last a very long time. No problem assembling the base.

It came in such a small package I though I had received the wrong part, but it was just very clever packaging. It was extremely easy to assemble and very strong once done. It does add height to the chair so be careful if you add rollerbalde wheels like I did as your chair will now be much higher
