I plugged this thing in the following Monday to compete once again with the DeWalt. The results were impressive. Monday turned out to be a day of heavy use. We needed to drill holes in new cabinetry, medium-hardness 1" wood. Myself and my partner split the building, me with my Milwaukee and he with his DeWalt. We were both using brand new Ryobi drill bits from the same kit, 1/64" difference in bit size. Each of us drilled about 400 holes that day. My Milwaukee with the XC battery made it with two bars of charge left, verging on a single bar. My partner's DeWalt was halfway through its second battery. I kept pace with him, to my amusement (he's a trade finish carpenter and I'm a rough carpenter and general laborer) and our drills seemed to be matched in power. Noy ready to autopsy it yet. **Q: How do you know this isn't a counterfeit? I've seen them on Aliexpress, the big Chinese website for $40 shipped.** A: If you buy from a third party that's not an authorized Milwaukee vendor you're taking a chance on getting a fake. Buying from a local store like Ace there's little to no chance of being ripped off. Knock off batteries don't last and 50/50 that the label on the outside is exaggerating the capacity of the cells on the inside. Lots of people have pulled them apart to see that 3ah batteries only had 2ah cells inside. Simply put, this battery fits the M12 series tools and in particular contrast to the standard battery, this one called XC Extra Capacity means it has about double the life between charges so you have power for a longer perid of time, and charge it less often.
