A great reference
I love this book. Just a warning, you have to put the swatches in yourself. Take at least an hour or 2. Worth it though!

Good Reference Book for Fabric

Incredible Textbook, but you really need to buy a new copy for most courses
Needed for a class. incredibly detailed textbook with many “labs” to learn about the science of textiles, however because the labs require the swatches in the book, and you cut up/burn/soak the swatches in bleach to test them, many courses require you to purchase the book new; which isn’t great sustainability wise. Sure you can find a used copy but the swatches may be altered/missing. Overall very useful and informative book.

Reviewing the Swatch Reference guide for fashion fabrics by Deborah E. Young 5th Edition
The book is nice however, I have found at this time 1 fabric swatch missing. I haven’t completed swatching all fabrics as of this date. Will come back later. Also, because the swatches were not pinkie with pinking shears, a great deal of the swatches are raveling except for the knits. Had to go in pinking the edges myself which would have not been too bad if the swatches were at least 2”

Great Resource
Great book and love the swatches but I was missing ONE swatch -- the lightest weight denim which is disappointing since you won't discover this until you have already put all of the swatches into the book and find you are one short -- otherwise a very valuable resource

Amazing Book, Better Teacher
BEST BOOK EVER! love Mrs Young and had so much fun learning all about each chapter in this textiles book
