This is an excellent cork screw, and well worth the price. I have a relatively large wine collection, and thus need a reliable cork screw. I have a Durand, for example (a roughly $100 corkscrew to use on old bottles with weak or deteriorated corks). The HiCoup is excellent for most uses. It has nice heft and is clearly well made. I have no worries about it breaking. It also fits the hand comfortably, and is easy to use. It replaces a similar screwpull version that I left at a restaurant. This is at least as good, perhaps better, than that one. A cheaper model may be fine -- particularly if you don't open that many bottles of wine. But for only $20 you can get a real workhorse that looks beautiful and operates perfectly.

Having just "lost" my favorite waiter's corkscrew, I found myself perusing multiple pages of candidate replacements when I saw the HiCoup version. Frankly, I passed it by the first time because if its price. I firmly believe that you get what you pay for, and the similar alternatives were all at least twice the price. At the same time, I was intrigued by the huge handle selections. The handle selections convinced me to bite the proverbial bullet and order one. Seemingly within hours, I received a note thanking me for my purchase and explaining the details of what I had just purchased and exactly how it functioned. Now, that has never happened to me before. That's customer reassurance in the extreme! The corkscrew arrived exactly on time and, I can report, is absolutely first class. It is well-designed, very well constructed, and works exactly as advertised. It is unquestionably the equal of alternatives twice and even triple the price. I know because I have some of them! For the record, I seldom write reviews -- only when something really special happens. This is definitely one of those times.

Bought this because I lost my last one. This one is a stiffer and harder to open up but I love he craftsmanship on it! Does the job.

We had been using a Rabbit to open wine bottles until that broke about five years ago. Then my sister sent me an electric wine bottle opener. My husband and I used it till the battery died. My husband had been given a waiter's corkscrew, so he used that for the past couple of months. He had a hard time with it, I think because the fulcrum seemed pretty flimsy. I could not open any wine bottles with it, so I decided to look on line to see what was available. After much research and review reading, I decided to try this waiter's corkscrew. I must admit that I was a bit hesitant at first, but what a great wine opener. I've only opened about 6 wine bottles since I received the corkscrew, but have had no trouble at all. I can't believe how easy it is to open wine bottles now. It is well made and very sturdy. I brought it to work to show my boss, who is an avid wine drinker. He really liked the quality and the red pear handle. I'm so happy I no longer have to wait for my husband to get home to open a wine bottle for me.

One of the best wine keys I’ve ever used. Took a minute to get used to but was easy to learn. Not only is it the best but it looks great too. Everyone at work finds me to use my wine key because it’s the best in house. The attached knife is somewhat hard to pull out but as the manual states, it gets better with use. I feel confident with this key as well as stylish. You seriously need one of these for work or for the house. Well worth the inexpensive price. This family knows what their doin!

This is the second one of these I have bought (I also have the Rosewood one, which I would have bought again if it were in stock). My first one was moved to my RV and I needed to replace it at home. This beautiful corkscrew can get out the most difficult corks, including those that time has made very tricky to get out. We use this in conjunction with our electric corkscrew, which is good for many but not all bottles; this one works with anything. Highly recommended.

I've owned this Professional Waiter's Corkscrew for about 18 months now, and it is by far the best quality corkscrew I've ever owned. It feels great it your hand, like a professional device, and works flawlessly. None of the hinges have become loose at all, and it looks as good now as when I bought it over 18 months ago, which is to say, beautiful! I can't recommend this enough. It will most likely be the last corkscrew you'll ever need!

As a server I've used many varieties of wine keys, most of which are donated from the distributor or wine maker, so durability tends to be as good as any company "schwag" is. This is an affordable and nicely manufactured wine key, great for getting the job done.

As a waitress, I was looking for something reliable. This is a very good tool. I replaced my old plastic one which was slowing me down at work. This made opening bottles enjoyable my favorite part of the service. I do think it gets a bit loose with use, but that's after many uses and by that time it doesn't matter because you've made the most of it. I recommend and would buy again, only when the first one has fallen apart.
