As funny as it is to say it "just works" when it's as simple as a bottle, it absolutely does. For starters the material. Not only is it BPA-free, the Tritan material is perfect for a drinking bottle. It's extremely rugged, in fact Nalgene has gained a reputation for how long their bottles last. It also doesn't leave much of a taste! A lot of my experience with plastic bottles is that you can taste the plastic, the problem persists with metal as well. Nalgene bottles have a fairly neutral taste. It's also very resistant to trapping odors and tastes. My problem with alternatives is that if you hold coffee in them for a long time, then your water tastes like coffee even after a clean. 1L is a perfect amount of water to hold in my opinion. It's enough to be usable, but not overkill to where it's not a functional bottle. It's great for day to day use as well, I find myself finishing a Nalgene just fine. The size is great in this aspect, it doesn't waste space with insulation. I find a lot of metal bottles and other plastic bottles can only ever hold 500ml and some change because of their shape. The leak proof seal just works. A lot of bottles are finicky, if you screw the cap from an angle it still leaks. I've tried to do it from an angle but it always screws on properly, I've never had a problem with it spilling. Overall the Nalgene is the perfect bottle. It's a good middle ground of everything while having its strengths in durability, build quality, and price.

I wish it was tall and narrow like the 48oz model, as it won't fit in my car's cupholders. As others said, the packaging is annoying sticky and tough to remove. I had to use a citrus based sticker removal product being careful not to get any on the factory markings. The wide mouth makes chugging easy but can also spill on you easy so use caution. Jade is a beautiful dark green, very nice looking.

Great bottles. Nice color combinations. Great for concerts and other events that allow outside bottles. Lighter than metal bottles for hiking. The wide mouth is giving portable drinking cup. Leak proof, but doesn’t fit in a standard cup holder. Surprisingly easy to carry and I can hook it to bags. The only complaint I have was the complete-contact sticker surrounding the bottom half of the bottle. It took me about 5 minutes to peel it off and wipe off residue. Worth the money.
