It's the best of any tiny keyboard, make of that what you will
I have the model designed for the newest iPad Mini, gen 6 at the time of writing, with an 8.3" diagonal. First let's address the baby elephant in the room: this is a tiny keyboard. There's no getting around that, there's only so much anyone can do to build a keyboard into an 8.3" diagonal shell. So don't expect it to magically have the comfort and typing accuracy of an IBM Model M. That being said, I feel this is one of the best keyboard cases available for the iPad mini at the time. The major peripheral brands still don't make a keyboard case for this generation like they did for the previous, and so if you're shopping around right now, you're probably noticing that anything you buy comes with a certain amount of risk. Like the key layouts are weird. Connectivity is unreliable. Where are the apostrophe and quotation mark keys? This keyboard also has issues, but as everyone's mileage may vary, for my needs this case design checks the largest amount of boxes. Let's start with the bad first: * It's a tiny keyboard. I have hands that fit snugly in a men's medium-size glove, and on this keyboard my fingers are very squished at home row. For my job I'm typing 8-9 hours a day and generally average over 100 wpm, on this keyboard I'd be surprised if I'm hitting 30. But this problem is going to be the same on every tiny keyboard, it is the reality of a tiny keyboard. * The apostrophe and quotation keys are hidden behind an Fn modifier. This doesn't take too long to get used to, but it's definitely not ideal. I compared a lot of other keyboard cases though, and believe me this is a far better option than many of the others, some of which need 4 key combinations to use proper punctuation. * The Apple Pencil magnets are weak. I don't think the case actually has additional magnets, it must simply be relying on the magnets inside the iPad. It's good enough to charge the pencil, but the pencil becomes very easy to knock off the case. And here's the good stuff: * The keys are nice and clicky with a mechanical feeling. I don't know if it's actually mechanical, but it feels more like a scissor switch than a rubber dome, so it's fairly pleasant to type on. * Battery life is GREAT. I've had this for a week and leave it on constantly, it hasn't died yet. I expect it has an auto-sleep when the case closes, because it does take a moment to reconnect before the keys do anything. * Connectivity has been perfect, in that, it has never had a problem. Never drops out and I never need to re-pair. * The case itself is very solid and feels safe. I haven't tried any drop tests but it has enough rubber around the corners that I feel confident in its protection. * I like how the keyboard can actually detach from the case. It's a heavy thing otherwise, but disconnecting the keyboard lightens the package up significantly for one-handed/portrait use. * iPad goes to sleep when the case closes. * Camera cut-out doesn't have a flap over it. My last case did, which obviously adds more protection, but was very annoying. * The hinge is stiff but in a very good way, it makes a great stand that feels much more secure than the myriad of fabric cases. * The rubber grippers on the bottom/keyboard side of the case also provide a lot of friction that helps the whole thing work well as a stand. Nothing slides around as you tap on the screen. And for the moment that's about all I can think of. If you can live with the inevitable consequences of shoving a standard QWERTY layout into a very tiny area, I think this is the best option you can presently buy for the iPad Mini 6.

Versatile keyboard case for iPad Mini
I’m writing this review using the product. It’s a great little keyboard case for the iPad Mini 6, consisting of two parts: a case for the tablet itself and a keyboard into which the table case connects magnetically. That connection is excellent; with a firm tug you can separate the two pieces, but it is unlikely they will come apart accidentally (save a pretty big jolt). The screen can open about 120 degrees, but you can also connect it “backwards” to create a tent-like shape or even just use the tablet with the keyboard connected underneath. Since the connection between the keyboard and the iPad is via Bluetooth, there are no wires to worry about. I’ve enjoyed using the iPad without the keyboard, as the case appears to provide good protection all around the sides and back of the tablet. While there is a bit of a “lip” to prevent the screen from scratching if you place it face-down on a surface, otherwise the case doesn’t cover the screen. However, it works just fine with my screen protector. I also really like that there’s a spot to connect the Apple Pencil magnetically, through the case. It’s strong enough that the Pencil will pair and charge, but its not super-strong; if I toss the iPad in my bag, the Pencil will likely fall off. The keyboard is good, considering the size of the device. No keyboard that fits the form factor of the iPad Mini is going to feel the same as a full-sized keyboard. But the keys travel well and I have had absolutely no problems with the Bluetooth connection to the iPad. They keys are not backlit. The battery life is likely quite good (although I haven’t used it long enough to run out of juice). There were some odd choices made in the keyboard: the question mark is in a different spot and the quotation marks require holding down the Fn to use. As a result, my typing on the keyboard is a bit slower than on a “real” keyboard. But for limited purposes, such as traveling when a smaller and lighter device is preferable, its perfectly useable. Overall, this is a great choice for a keyboard case for the iPad Mini. Especially considering the price (I paid about $50 USD), it is a solid, versatile accessory that has served me very well.

I don’t want to admit how much I’ve spent looking for the right keyboard for my iPad mini. I’ve tried many of the ones listed on the “best keyboards for iPad mini” lists. But the others have only left me with buyer's remorse. But the search is over. I read the other helpful Amazon reviews, and, like they said, the keyboard will be smaller. But it’s not been a real issue for me. It takes a little getting used to the different keyboard layout, but it’s a much easier configuration than I’ve experienced on other configurations. But what has impressed me the most is how the keyboard and iPad detach so I can use the iPad flat with my Apple Pencil or magnetically snap the keyboard back together. And closed up, it offers excellent protection for transport. This is a massive bonus over other cases where the keyboard folds and pivots for use with Apple Pencil or for reading. Others commented on concerns with the Apple Pencil holder, but I’ve had no problems. I wouldn’t have said it was more problematic for transporting in a backpack than the apple folio I had. I only wish I had found this one sooner.

For a basic pc user, it's a little quirky to use, but once you get your head around it, it's very good and a compact travel gadget.
