Does what it says!
If you have a modern computer with no audio jack, this would be your cheapest option.

functional but limiting
Tested platform: windows 11So i have spent maybe 5 hours trying to figure why this device is as bad as it is. ive switched between voicemeter potato and vbmatrix and restarted my pc so many times that it felt like nothing. so here's where it went wrong:- mono only output: it has no stareo separation. this may be a windows update issue but considering that windows 10 is doing to be unusable by September, this is quite pathetic no? this breaks immersive audio and it is unsuitable for gaming or critical listening.- driver quirks: the adapter uses a generic usb audio class 1.0 driver. the sample rate is locked at 16-bit/48kHZ, and advanced format options are disabled. no manufacturer's driver is provided.- pop and spike noise: frequent audible artifacts occur when starting or stopping playback, even when silent keep-alive feeds (having low frequency noise play in the background) are applied. these are especially noticeable on sensitive IEMS. if you ever consider buying an IEM, i recommend getting one that uses USB C instead of a 3.5mm jack for your ears sake.-- technical verdict: while the adapter functions for simple output scenarios like watching videos really really loud, it isnt suitable for normal users in my opinion. i got this because i needed a good quality device that would help with my video editing and gaming but it did no justice. its inability to support stereo routing undermines its viability.-pros: affordable, compact, good build.cons: limited mono output, no stereo routing, pops and spikes, locked format -- shall i go on?-if youre using audio devices that use a 3.5mm jack, i recommend either getting a better quality adapter that is made for professional use.

Adaptable Budget audio if you have rubber or ceramic isolated devices.
If I put a type of rubber silicon under my chair, monitor, chrome box, and keyboard. Or put it and my phone with a usb 2/3 with external power attachment with rubber silicon mat, underneath. Its passable in using it without its sound ringing my head through headphones too unsafely. However regular beaks from using it is recommended. The sound output is very clear, crisp and smooth otherwise. And it adapted to my stereo Sony headphones after a short delay, really well.

I ordered the wrong item.
I ordered this item, on the advice of a friend, because I wanted to route an audio mixer to my latest laptop, which does not have a separate Audio In port. I tried everything I could think of to get it to work, and kept it beyond the return time limit. Never got it to work. I now understand that this item was designed for audio output [to headphones], not audio input.Take this as a cautionary tale: be sure you really understand what the gizmo you order will do what you need it to do before you pull the trigger. Case in point: the refurbed Lenovo laptop I got from Amazon does not have an Audio In port. I had not spotted that before I ordered it.The product arrived quickly, and it does do what it's meant to do, just not what I expected it to do because I hadn't read the specifications.

Solves Win11 Audio Problem for 3.5mm
Upgraded to win11, Lenovo P52, Sennheiser H280 cans connected via 3.5mm jack to laptop, had wow and flutter but more aggravating was that audio volume would abruptly go to "11" for tens of milliseconds to seconds then drop back to normal volume. Risk of hearing damage if this happens a lot, these are quality cans. Audiophiles would cringe at the wow and flutter which is truthfully irritating but I could tolerate it.Lots of fix suggestions out there, consumes a lot of time experimenting, helped to some degree but I did not reach a working solution and Microsoft and/or Lenovo has yet to come up with a driver solution.However-- found that USB headphones work fine, it is just the audio driver to 3.5mm output. So tried this solution, USB to 3.5mm to Sennheiser HD280. Problem solved without wasting a lot of time fiddling with arcane Win controls, or tolerating ear blasting audio, or using inferior USB headphones.Pros:-- seems well constructed, flexible-- solves Win11/Lenovo driver problem, the primary objective of this purchaseCons:-- not gold plated like the Sennheiser plug, so that there is sometimes noise when connector is moved. Might have long term degradation (loss of a channel for instance). If you have the Win11 3.5mm audio problem, this is the easiest solution without spending hours searching out and experimenting with Win audio controls. Sure, it costs a few dollars, but what is your time worth?
