I bought some of the side clip style duvet clips before and they were okay but every few nights they would work loose and fall off, so it became a constant chore finding the missing ones each morning and redoing, and in the end I gave up. Then I saw these and while they were quite pricey I thought I would give them a go. I am glad I did as there is NO shifting these once they are on. Because they go through the duvet and cover, there is no way for them to slide off and the magnets are really strong so they won't come apart either. Removing them is an absolute doddle with the little magnetic wand that comes with it. My only concern is the day that I inevitably find I have lost said wand, then I will be b*****ed! So these do come with an underlying constant anxiety lol. But seriously, I would absolutely recommend these. The other plus is that they are much smaller and more discreet than the previous ones I had, and they don't wallop the wall like the old ones when I make the bed. I found that I could reach inside and pin through the filler, then through the bottom of the duvet cover, and it worked just fine, without having little dimples show on the top from pinning through all three layers. The caps feel solid, well made, and would be very difficult to break. But if your items are thick, you might not be able to release the pin without using one of the following methods. (I have 4 thin blankets pinned together & couldn't unpin them at first.) I found a link to a YouTube video that shows you how to undo a stuck pin by quickly (and forcefully?) tapping the key over the backer pin several times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VHVmcto2GAk. Another way to undo the pin is to put a solid item behind the clear pinhead attached to your items, then push the key down firmly over the pin backer holding them together. The pin should release easily. I've found I can flip my stack of pinned blankets so the clear pinhead sits on top of the bedding on my mattress, then I push the key down firmly over the pin backer. This allows me to pull apart the pin. WHEW, thank goodness!!! I hope one or both of these methods work for you! **Q: Would the pins do any damage to a down comforter? I want to use them to secure a duvet cover to the comforter.** A: That is what I use them for and they are awesome!!! They do poke holes but they are not very big. Me preocupaba que hiciera agujeros en la funda, pero silo haces con cuidado no se daña y al lavarla se vuelve a cerrar perfectamente.
