Why is there no enamel coating on the inside of the handles?  It appears that they were missed in production.

While the 5-qt. tall cocotte's handle insides *do* lack the enamel glaze of the cocotte’s outside or the thick ceramic lining of its inside, they *have* been coated with a thin layer of matte sealant that has repelled rust and moisture for the year+ that I've owned the cocotte. || Not gonna lie: As the owner of 3 other Staub enameled cast iron products whose handle insides are all perfectly smooth (i.e. the 12” grill, 3.5-qt. braiser, and 9-qt. cocotte), I actually returned the Staub 5-qt tall cocotte to Amazon after an initial purchase, citing the rough handle insides. || However, since I still needed this 5-qt. tall cocotte’s volume and slim profile for smaller cooking jobs for which my gigantic 9-qt. cocotte is overkill -- and since further online research reassured me that the 5-qt. tall's inner handles are rust-proof despite their rough hand-feel -- I eventually backtracked and ordered the 5-qt. tall cocotte again, directly from Staub's U.S. distributor, Zwilling J.A. Henckels, during a sale. || In the year+ since my purchase, I've gotten used to the 5-qt. tall cocotte’s rough inner handles; found that their rust-proofing is indeed legit; relied upon the cocotte for smaller batches of soups, stews, leafy veggies (kale, collards, ‘kilt lettuce’, etc.), and the occasional deep-fry (falafel, etc.); and have fielded many compliments from visitors and houseguests who, like me, find the 5-qt. tall cocotte gorgeous to look at (mine’s Matte Black) and pleasant to use. || YMMV, but I don’t regret repurchasing the 5-qt. tall cocotte after my initial aversion to its unfinished-feeling handle insides.
