ok so i've been using this amazon basics electric pencil sharpener for a bit now and i gotta say i'm pretty impressed. like it's one of those things you don't think you need until you have it and then you're like wait this is actually genius. first off the auto-stop feature is such a game changer. you know how with regular sharpeners you keep going and suddenly your pencil tip is completely gone? yeah this one just stops automatically when it's perfectly sharpened. saves so much pencil and honestly it's just satisfying to watch. and the best part? no jams so far which is usually my biggest fear with electric sharpeners. it just glides through smoothly every time. speed wise it's quick too - like pop the pencil in and a few seconds later you're done. no grinding noises or struggling. just fast and efficient. the fact that it's portable is another huge plus cause you can either plug it in with the usb cord or run it on batteries. so if you're moving it around your desk or even taking it somewhere else, you're not tied to one spot. oh and can we talk about the 2 year warranty? amazon basics really came through with that. makes me feel way more confident about the purchase cause if anything goes wrong they got me covered. honestly for the price it's a no-brainer. if you're someone who uses pencils regularly for work, art, school, whatever this thing will make your life easier. compact, reliable, and does exactly what it says on the box. genuinely happy with this one. Im happy that this supports usb chord because personally i hate batteries!!!

What a truly great product. Perfectly designed. Works extremely well. I've owned it for over a year now, and thought I'd write to let everyone know how good it is. The sharpener does a really good job of sharpening on normal sized pencils and colouring pencils. You can't fit thick pencils in. The user can select 1 of 3 different grades of sharpening so that you can get a very sharp point, blunt tip, or somewhere in between. I didn't consider this useful before purchase, but now i see that this is a really good feature. The machine stops when it is has completed sharpening. I leave mine powered permanently using the supplied USB cable, but it can also be powered by batteries. It works a lot better than even a decent quality hand sharpener and seems to keep coloured leads intact where these would often snap off in a manual unit. The waste compartment is well sealed and you need to press button on both sides of lid to release for emptying. The waste is large enough to hold sharpenings many weeks so i would judge the capacity good for family use. Because the blade is fixed to the lid, once that is open there is no chance of accidental operation and cutting your fingers. The plug going into the sharpener doesn't fully go in so you are always left with a bit of the metal plug showing. This doesn't effect operation, but leaves the whole plug extending around 30mm from the rear. Overall this is a really good value sharpener, at less than 3 times the price of a manual model

Sharpens effortlessly and stops automatically when there is a point on the pencil. Only criticism is the 3 sharpening positions do not really work!! Maybe I've not loaded the sharpener correctly but it only seems to sharpen pencils to a point and not as stated on the machine. Please read the description of the 3 settings on the sharpener to understand what I mean. Still very good though.

Honestly, this sharpener is amazing for the price. At only £12, it’s much cheaper than the other ones I looked at, but it works perfectly. Every pencil comes out nicely sharpened, and the 3 sharpening settings are really useful. I added a photo to show the different sharpness levels (left to right from blunt to sharpest) and a video to show how fast and accurate it is. It’s compact, easy to clean, kid-safe, and has two ways to power/use it. Definitely recommend!

Awful! The only reason there are some shreddings in it are because I usually switch it off and use it like a normal sharpener! What a waste of money. It’s broke 2 pencils as well!! I honestly want my money back at this point. Paying over £10 for a pencil sharpener that doesn’t even work. I need this as a teacher…

I am very happy with this pencil sharpener. It was a very good price and actually works really well. Very easy to use and has three different sharpness levels which is handy.

I grabbed this Amazon Basics electric pencil sharpener mainly for my 10-year-old daughter’s homework station and it’s honestly been a great little tool. It’s compact enough not to clutter the table, and the auto-stop feature is brilliant, especially when she’s using it on her own. No more over-sharpened stubs or snapped leads! We’ve used it with colouring pencils and regular HB ones and it handles both well. I do like that it gives the option for battery or USB operation perfect when you’re short on plug space or just want to move it around. It’s not loud either, which is a pleasant surprise. If I had one small nitpick, I wish the shavings container was just a tiny bit bigger, but that’s being picky.

The Amazon Basics Pencil Sharpener does a decent job of sharpening pencils and I like that it stops automatically once the pencil is sharpened, which helps avoid over-sharpening. If you’re looking for a sharpener that you can move around easily or take with you, this might not be the best choice. However, there are a couple of downsides. It uses too many batteries if you choose not to plug it in, and the slider for adjusting pencil length is difficult to set precisely in the middle, making it hard to get the exact length you want. 3 stars – A good sharpener, but battery-hungry, tricky to adjust, and not very portable when plugged in.

Très satisfait de ce taille-crayon électrique portable Amazon Basics. Il taille les crayons rapidement et avec précision, sans casser la mine. Même mon enfant de 2 anq l'utilise efficacepent. J'apprécie particulièrement qu'il permette d'obtenir trois types de pointes (fine, moyenne ou plus épaisse), ce qui est très pratique selon l'utilisation. Son format compact le rend facile à transporter et il est simple à utiliser. Très bon rapport qualité-prix, je le recommande.

I was a little skittish about getting this, but it works GREAT!!! It doesn't cost much. It sharpens really sharp with a nice sharp point. It sharpens really quick. You have 3 settings for how you want your lead point. It does however runs on batteries. It does have an USB where you can plug in but I think it goes a little slower on sharpening. I would definitely recommend this product.

I’ve never owned an electric pencil sharpener before. So when I tried this, I was surprised how well it worked. You can use it with electricity or use batteries. You can sharpen your pencils in 3 different ways. I’ve never heard of it done that way before but it does work. The pencil shavings are very small so the part that holds the shavings, will take awhile to fill it up. Haven’t had this item very long, but so far I love it. It is a little pricey, but I think it is worth it!
