Due to a health issue, I have to take my blood pressure daily. I had an automatic blood pressure cuff but it suddenly became incredibly painful to use. It would turn my arm bright red and hurt like fire. I purchased a new one thinking that it had gone bad but the new one did the same thing.When I checked with my doctor, she told me that automatic cuffs inflate extremely high, much higher than I needed to have. She suggested a manual blood pressure cuff and good stethoscope. Unfortunately, that proved beyond my or my husband's abilities so I went looking for a cuff that was semi-automatic and found this one.The Medline semi-automatic is just that. You manually inflate the cuff and then the machine takes over automatically.The cuff fits my medium arm as well as my husband's larger arm. It is soft and comfortable (unlike the rigid cuff of the fully automatic machines.) You simply cinch the cuff on comfortably (not too tight), place the arterial lines in the position called for and then start manually inflating.The trick to inflating is to continually pump the unit until it reaches the level you desire. For me, that is usually 160 versus the over 200 of the automatic units. Once I achieve that number, I stop pumping the bulb and the machine kicks in and counts down. Once the process is over, the numbers show up and you can release the remaining pressure in the cuff.That's it, that simple. It works well, synchs well with both my doctor and physical therapist's manual units. No more pain and takes only a minute to finish. I've been using it now for almost three full months and am even more pleased with it than when I first got it.I also noticed that I do better if I keep my elbow off the table I put my arm on. It may be just me but I did notice a slight amount of pain when I had pressure on the elbow.

Very easy to use, works well. I like the semi-automatic variety since I can pump up the sleeve myself and not rely on a motor, batteries etc.

I just got it today and can't say how long it will last, but it's just what I wanted. I love the simplicity of it. I love the carrying/storage bag. Great cuff for big upper arm, plenty of room.
