Took me only a couple of days to finish it. And, yes it's very short. Around 65 pages. And, that again a disappointing factor nonetheless. This book tells you about how to detox your dopamine based activities. For example : you are addicted to video games or YouTube or any other thing. What actually happens is that by relishing yourself under such activities dopamine is released inside our body which actually is a neurotransmitter and it gives us a feeling of satisfaction, joy, accomplishment. You complete a certain hard-core mission in a game and dopamine is released. You scroll through instagram and youtube shorts enjoying relevant and irrelevant videos to have fun. This right here my folks is called 'dopamine hikacking.' What's happening is that you are constantly being put into these environments because of ease of access and then your dopamine is getting utilised in unnecessary activities. This is where this book comes in handy. It highlights the importance of 'what you should be doing.' The problem is that — it never ends. Once you waste time in these useless activities, the regret hits us. But what happens another day? We repeat the same mistake. Same regret. And, the cycle goes on before we realise that we wasted our precious time. The book dives deep into explaining how we are prone to such mind-distracting things. And, how to stay away from them for our well-being. The only issue is that this book was super short. I needed more. The language is very easy and understandable and the way it is written is also very pleasing. It keeps us hooked right from the get go. This is a type of book which you can read anytime and any number of times. It's so good that even after rereading it you won't get bored. Instead, you'll probably gain something new. A must buy if you're facing mind focus problems. I have attached a picture which will tell you for who is this book for? Review: Dopamine Detox: A Short Guide to Remove Distractions and Get Your Brain to Do Hard Things - Dopamine Detox is a concise and practical guide that delves into how modern distractions and constant dopamine hits (from social media, notifications, etc.) hinder our focus and productivity. The book provides actionable steps to regain control of your brain and improve your ability to do challenging, yet rewarding, tasks. Here's a review based on its strengths and some areas of improvement: Pros: Streamlines Thinking: The book offers clear, actionable advice on how to eliminate distractions, helping to streamline your thinking process. It effectively explains how dopamine-driven behaviors shape our ability to focus. Improves Mindset: It helps you understand how to shift your mindset from seeking instant gratification to focusing on long-term goals, which is crucial for personal and professional growth. Easy-to-Understand Language: The writing is simple and accessible, making complex concepts about brain chemistry and habits easy to grasp. Practical Tips: The book provides real-life techniques, such as time-blocking, reducing screen time, and creating intentional breaks, that readers can implement immediately. Short and Direct: At less than 100 pages, it’s a quick read that doesn’t overwhelm you with unnecessary details. Perfect for those looking for a swift mental reset. Cons: Lacks Deep Scientific Insights: While the book is practical, it skims over the deeper neuroscience behind dopamine and how it affects the brain. Some readers looking for more scientific backing might find it oversimplified. Repetitive at Times: Certain concepts, such as the importance of reducing distractions, are repeated multiple times. While it emphasizes key ideas, it might feel redundant to some readers. Could Use More Case Studies: The book relies heavily on general advice and could benefit from more specific case studies or real-life success stories to make the content more relatable and inspiring. Verdict: Dopamine Detox is a solid guide for anyone looking to reclaim their focus and productivity by cutting out distractions and retraining their brain. While it’s not a deep dive into neuroscience, its simplicity and actionable advice make it a valuable read for those wanting to quickly improve their mindset and daily habits. Perfect for readers who need a practical, no-nonsense guide to detox from dopamine-driven distractions.

Decent
Books is fine and provides a good understanding on the said topic. But it being so short, I'd recommend to go for the kindle version where you can access all the books of this series

simple and effective
This book is scientific and practical. And a very quick read. But any book works if you work. So working on the action plan alongside is highly recommend.

Best for Beginners
This book is suitable for beginners or those at a basic level who want to evaluate themselves through their daily routines. However, it may not be very useful for experienced or older readers who are already familiar with these concepts. One positive aspect is that it provides insight into how the system works and emphasizes the importance of staying focused.

Dopamine Detox or Just Repackaged ‘Atomic Habits’
The book came in perfect condition with a timely delivery. My rating for the book is ★★☆☆☆ Okay, this book has something unique in identifying dopamine as a neurotransmitter and not as a "pleasure chemical" but other than that, it is all about the stuff we already knew. Most of the suggestions and remedies recommended by Thibaut Meurisse are predominantly found in the great book Atomic Habits. Thibaut recommends doing the most important things as the first thing in the morning, making things that we want to cultivate as frictionless as possible, and creating friction for the things that we want to quit. This is exactly the methods, such as habit stacking, cue-craving-action-response, and the likes, found in the Atomic Habits book. Though Thibaut's suggestions for 48-hour, 24-hour, and partial detox methods are really good, it is not something new that I came across in this book. I was not genuinely getting any inspiration or motivation to go for a dopamine detox as this book lacks a complete depth on such topics, whereas Andrew Huberman is giving a lot of it in his YouTube videos. So, the author knew that in this age of tiny attention spans, a full-fledged book on a topic like this would attract you because of fewer pages. Just like YouTube videos that get split into several videos and playlists for the sake of views, he had split all the chapters [Immediate Actions, Powerful Focus, and Strategic Mindset] that he wants in a single book into several other books. Not going to buy other books for sure. Trust me, you'll not miss anything by not reading this book. Just stick to the Atomic Habits, and that's a gold mine.

Decent book. Quick, easy read.
This book could benefit everyone. It isn’t going to blow your mind with facts, science, case studies, or any form of deep learning or analysis. But, given the topic of the book, I think that’s best. I skipped many paragraphs, as the content was common knowledge (for me, and for most people), but there was certainly helpful information in the Dopamine Detox book. Though short, sweet, simply written, and laden with everyday knowledge, Meurisse does a good job putting into perspective why our lives feel like, and have become an electric chaotic roller coaster. Great read to help those dealing with various mental health hurdles.

Brillant and Effective
As everyone has said, it is to the point, which in effect means you can start using the stratergies as you read. I found the techniques to be simple an easy. My biggest form of over stimulation for me were: emails, shopping/ browsing online stores, and You Tube. As I gently practised the detox, I experienced so much calm, felt relaxed, totally fulfilled, and my desire to engage in my poor internet habbits reduced by 80% - I hardly desired to engage in them after day 1 of practise. I felt calm and satisfied. As the book suggested, when you reduce over stimulation, you are suddenly motivated to concentrate on the things that matter to you; like goals and dreams that have been so long neglected. This was the case for me, old goals came alive, and I was able to start them back up right away. I was so suprised at how simple and impactful this book was. I hope many many more people find benfit in it, and transfer their focus from excitment and over stimulation, to calm and focused on the activities that gifts them with immense fulfilment.
