Delighted. “You get what you pay for” on both ends of the scale, as a dearer product it’s shows its quality and it’s minor issues are forgivable as it’s not the most expensive. As a first time user the nib was quick to teach me what angle to write in. It is both forgiving and stubborn. It is comfortable and seems to be well made. The nib is beautiful and the shaft has good balance. I’ve found the blue ink to be thicker and the black ink more fluid. Both bleed through standard paper but are quick to dry. As a first time user it had been a joy to work with.

Bought the Wordsworth & Black fountain pen with the medium nib in all black. I have used fountain pens for a very long time and this is one of the best that I have used. It comes with 24 ink cartridges, and thankfully they are the standard size of ink cartridge and not a proprietary one like some other brands demand. It also comes with a refill cartridge so you can use ink bottles if you prefer. The pen can hold two of the standard cartridges, like most fountain pens. The one that is currently being used and one in the back of the pen so that unless you know you are going to do a lot of writing you don't need to carry loose cartridges around. Compared to my last fountain pen this is a little heavier but I have gotten used to that extra wright very quickly. It is not overly heavy though. The weight is balanced nicely which allows for an easy writing experience. The ink supplied dries quite quickly and as I have used fountain pens for a while I know how to avoid smudging the ink while it does dry. The pen looks quite simplistic in the all black but I prefer that in a pen. While I say it does look simplistic it also looks professional as a good quality pen shouldn't need to try and impress with looks but by how it actually writes. There are a number of other colours and nib sizes available, but I preferred the look of the black one. I also went with the medium nib as that is the size I usually use.

These fountain pens are just incredible. If you enjoy writing by hand, you can't get better than this. It's my go to pen and goes everywhere with me. Smooth and comfortable with brilliant ink flow. Come in a great range of colours (racing green for me) and a choice of nib width.

I don't usually buy fountain pens but thought I'd give this a go as they are so pretty. It is really lovely to write with, which is obviously the most important in a pen. The ink flow is steady even at quite a fast writing speed and the ink dries fast. It's also permanent and stains fingers easily if you're silly and wipe it off (don't worry, you will probably not be as silly as me!). It seems well made and durable with a well fitting cap that snaps on and stays on. The size is great to hold and it fits well in the hand. On the flip side, the material of the barrel does look and feel cheaper than in the photos. I don't think it's an issue long term as the overall structure is sturdy, but a bit disappointing. The biggest disappointment for me was that the nib that shows as a beautifully engraved silver and gold in the photo is actually a solid gold colour with a fairly simple WB engraved. No impact on the usability, but as the look was what made me choose this particular pen over others, this makes it a 4 instead of 5 for me.

Love this, it’s so heavy it feels like a javelin, it writes really well and the cartridges are easy to swap in and out, takes a good beating in the bag and in the pocket, awesome.

I love this pen and use it daily. I have another Fountain Pen which was a lot more expensive, but this is the one i always default to. It has a lovely weight to it as well. This purchase was to gift to someone else and i a, sure they will love it just as much as i do.

Usually, it takes some time to wear in a new nib (which is why you should never use another person's fountain pen), but this required only a little to work really well. A good product, well packaged in a nice box, itself inside a nice cardboard box, so would make an excellent gift. Rules for fountain pens: 1) ONLY use ink specifically for fountain pens (NOT Indian ink - if it dries in the pen, you have wrecked it and will have to buy a new one - be warned), not printers' ink, or inks for dipping pens. 2) Wash through only in water by filling and emptying a few times every couple of months or so, then dry on a tissue and leave to air dry; NEVER, NEVER use other cleaning chemicals, like nail varnish remover. 3) Do not allow others to use your pen, your nib is specifically for you & your style of handwriting. 4) Be patient, it takes time to wear in a nib. Your handwriting will thank you for it, improve, and make letters more impressive. It photocopies better, too. 5) Do not press down hard when writing. One of the great advantages of a fountain pen is that you need only very light pressure, sufficient to make contact with the paper, so are much less tiring to use than a ballpoint pen. If the ink is soaking into the paper, like blotting paper, you need to use better quality paper. I bought two A4 refill pads from the same brand, the recycled variety paper soaks up ink and spreads out, unlike the proper main brand, so you might need to test it. You get what you pay for, and one of the ways to reduce paper's price is to lower the quality ingredients, like China clay. 6) DO NOT write cheques, (or other important documents like wills) in fountain pen, or any other erasable inks - it can be washed out. ALWAYS use a non - erasable pen for these, such as a permanent ballpoint pen. 7) Carry nib upwards in your pocket, cap on. 8) Remember to underfill your pen a little to take on an aeroplane - it's less likely to leak with the pressure changes, but with modern pens, this shouldn't be a problem. 9) Take pleasure in using your pen: a good fountain pen is one of life's little joys. Schon mein allererster Eindruck, übertraf bei weitem meine Erwartungen . Der Füller macht ein sehr hochwertigen Eindruck, ist super verarbeitet, und liegt gut in der Hand. Und natürlich ist das Schreiben eine Wucht. Ich las in anderen Rezensionen, das Sc hreiben ware kratzig. Das kann ich in keiner Weise be staetigen. Dann kommt noch der günstigste Preis. Wie ist es möglich, so ein tolles Produkt für nur 34,90,- angeboten werden?! FAZIT: Kann ich absolut weiterempfehlen! .

My obsession with fountain pens is curbed by my need to eat, buy groceries, and you know, live. Many are just way over my budget, but this one scratched that itch, mainly because it's beautiful (rainbow lives up to its name) and in a doable price range. I love the weight as it feels heavy but not too heavy and substantial (aka expensive). The set comes with 24 cartridges (half black, half blue). They were clicked in easily and the writing experience is so, so smooth, probably the best writing pen I've had in a long while. Even when it's been sitting for a while, it easily writes without my having to "prime" it. I've written so much in the past few days that my first cartridge is almost empty. Many fountain pens I've had in the past were much loved but I'm not sure that I would trust them on the go. I would usually end up with ink on my fingers at some point and I was afraid of smudging on everyday documents. The blue ink dries pretty quickly, and the color is vibrant. I love this pen. Maybe next month, I'll go for another color.
