The DoorSaver 3 is a set of interlocking cams that use your current hinge pin (select the DoorSaver II if you prefer the version with the hinge pin built into the interlocking cams). DoorSaver 3 is simple to install, looks great and stays in place without “working up.” Fits home doors with 3 1/2 or 4 inch hinges. **Q: Can this hinge pin stop be used on commercial grade hinges?**
A: Nope.  Hinge pin is to big

**Q: How many hinge stops come in a single order?**
A: One single stopper per order. You can perhaps get away with just 1 on a hollow door. I personally am putting multiples on each door just to reduce the overall strain on the door jamb and reduce long-term damage.

**Q: Does this prevent the door from being slammed and instead gently closing on its own?**
A: The DoorSaver stops the door at a set point during the opening function of the door.  The door will still close as if no stop was on the door.  A door closer is designed to control the closing force of a door.

**Q: What is the minimum setting for the door to be opened.  I need to minimize how much the door opens.?**
A: The device limits door swing in about 22.5 deg increments.  Depending on how exactly the trim around the hinges on your door is, you can practically limit the door from opening at all, to something about 22.5 degrees.  This depending on if the arm of the device ends up resting against your door hinge or against the trim moulding near the hinge.  But it is adjustable in increments of 22.5 degrees.  For some door this was not quite enough adjustment range for my liking.  I personally feel they need more adjustment granularity (adjustment of less than 22.5 degrees) to be useful in all situations.

I was glad to find this hinge mounted item that let me open closet doors 180 degrees to go safely against the wall instead of the usual 90 degrees leaving the open door blocking the hallway. They were easy to install and adjust to stop where I needed. I installed them on 6 doors and they work on all of them. They look pretty subtle and I like not having to vacuum around baseboard bumpers.

These were recommended by our GC after our remodel. I was skeptical, but after using them, I'll never you a door stop on the baseboards or those other door hinge kind of stops with the big rubber pieces. Honestly, most people will never even notice that these are on the door. Easy to install and look great!
