Easy to fit and perfect for the job!

Bought these for a Nikon Z8 - and, admittedly, approached the installation with some trepidation. All went well. In fact it went swimmingly - but just for balance here are a few notes. There are some 'alignment'(?) stickers in the kit, but the instructions don't indicate what you're supposed to do with them...so I went with the EEVBlog method of sticking my tongue out at the right angle (if you know, you know) and giving it my best shot. The supplied cleaning/drying tissues are incredibly small. They look like courtesy wet-wipes from an Action Man kit. C'mon guys...stick 5p on the price and give us double the size of wipes. The main screen fit is perfect - but the top screen fit stands a bit proud. This is more down to the design of the camera than the protective screen - but I'm not in the least bit worried about that, I'd sooner trade off aesthetics for much beefier screen protection. Having cleaned and dried the screens (with the teeeny-tiny tissues) and positioned them as precisely as I could I was both relieved and delighted to see the screens drop into place and secure themselves with very few air pockets (all on the outer edges) - which were easily remedied by running a fingernail over the screens. The clarity is fine, the touchscreen works perfectly. I hate fitting these things - but I've seen what happens when an unprotected screen cops a whack - so I was very relieved to find that these protectors were easy to install and were a good fit. I'd buy them again...but I'd buy a bigger pack of screen wipes too... It would have been a 5* review...but anyone who's tight with a tissue deserves a point knocking off.

Did a little bit of research for a Z8 screen protector and this item got favourable reviews. Took the plunge as at just under £8 for two lots of both rear and upper screen protectors, appeared very reasonable. Came well packaged by the manufacturer and with detailed instructions. It’s a little like fitting a mobile screen protector (but far easier to align) Cleaned and dried the screen with the provided wipes. These are small but more than adequate for the task. Used the supplied guides to hinge the protector in place prior to peeling the backing film. Once ready, peeled off the backing and it fits perfectly without dust particles or bubbles. Identical procedure for top screen. Sits a little proud as some reviews have alluded but really can’t see this being an issue. I can’t see there’s any way to manufacture a screen protector to fit the top in any other manner than slightly proud. Can’t comment on longevity but hopeful it’ll last long enough to prove to be good value.

2 sets of glass along with ample wipes and dust removing stickers, supplied in a small plastic box. Fitted in minutes, no sign of bubbles or other problems. Fits the Z8 perfectly, (I think the displays are the same size on the Z9). The second set are back in the box in case they’re needed.

Recently purchased a Nikon Z8 camera. It's not cheap - control panel window and monitor need to be protected. These items do the job very well. Extremely well made and easy to apply. It took me about 30 seconds to apply the glass to the monitor - there was a slight bubble to the bottom left of the monitor - a bit of gentle squeezing and pushing out towards the left edge and the bubble was gone. The control panel was slightly more tricky - but doable. Happy with the result!!

Get a few. The first 1 I messed up. The second one, was ALMOST perfect... The 3rd one was pefect! Now I can do them every time. A learning experience. Ignore all the nonsense they come with. Just clean screen with a damp microfibre cloth. And apply accurately by eye, in a way that it does not touch any edges at all using your fingers, wash hands and only touch edges. Once placed it magically applies itself perfectly. If you got it in the right place... Once fitted its impossible to see it. You cannot tell and I tried to scratch one of the ones I screwed up. You cant. Not even sandpaper made a mark! It is like glass. Or it is glass. Forget the one for the top LCD as theres no "recess" and so you can always see that its applied by the edges. If that bothers you.

Nachdem mehrere Fotografen über dein zerkratztes Display an der Z9 nach kurzer Zeit berichtet hatten habe ich mich entschlossen erstmals eine Displayfolie zu nutzen. Die Folie ist schon recht dick, so dass man eigentlich nicht mehr von einer Folie sprechen kann. Sie dürfte auch recht kräftige Berührungen abkönnen. In der Packung ist alles dabei: 1. mehrere Packungen klitzekleiner Reinigungstücher feucht 2. mehrere Trocknungstücher in der gleichen Größe 3. 2 Displayfolien für das Schulterdisplay 4. 2 Displayfolien für das große Kameradisplay alles gut verpackt und geschützt. Sowohl Reinigung der Kamera, als auf das Aufbringen funktionierte ohne Probleme. Die Folie saugt sich nach dem Aufbringen ganz von allein fest an die Kamera. Bei mir auf Anhieb komplett frei von Blasen. Eine Korrektur ist möglich, aber dazu muss man die Folie noch mal komplett lösen. Das musste ich beim Schulterdisplay machen, weil ich leicht zu schief angesetzt habe. Das ist auch der kritischste Punkt - man muss ganz exakt an einer Kante ausgerichtet die Folie an ansetzen bevor man sie komplett aufbringt. Ein Verschieben ist nicht mehr möglich nachdem die Folie einmal klebt. Dann muss man sie komplett ablösen und neu aufbringen was aber machbar ist. Dabei darf man aber auf keinen Fall auf die "Klebeseite" fassen. Im Notfall hat mein einen weiteren Foliensatz in der Packung. Am Besten man übt das Aufsetzen und das Runterklappen der Displayfolie ein paar mal, so lange die Schutzfolie auf der Displayfolie noch drauf ist. Die Displayfolie sitzt dann aber bombenfest auf der Kamera und sie stört die Bedienung überhaupt nicht. Wer nicht weiß, dass da eine Folie drauf ist wird es kaum bemerken, wenn überhaupt. Ich habe jetzt keinen Vergleich zu anderen Schutzfolien, aber diese überzeugt mich auf Anhieb zu 100%. Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Upgraded from a very old novice D70s to the new mirrorless Z8. Installation was flawless. Before I attempted the install, I took the liberty of viewing a couple of (short) installation videos available on Youtube; I just searched “Applying Ulbter” and the vids came up. The kit comes with instructions, but they seem cryptic to me. In the kit are: instructions; pads 1 & 2 (4 ea); guide and dust stickers (set of 4); small LCD glass screen with protective sticker to be removed (2); and larger LCD glass screen w/ protective sticker to be removed (2). Installation was easy as my camera was clean, but I went through the motions to clean the receiving screen: I used pad 1 (which is the moist) pad to clean the screen, followed up by using pad 2 (which is the dry pad) to to the follow-up dry the receiving screen’s surface. My first screen “protected” was the small LCD screen. Took the small glass from the package handling the edges only and removed, using the attached sticker with directions on it, the glass protector. I kept the once “stickered” side down so it would be less likely to have dust fall on it while I transferred it to the camera. I did not use the guides for the small one, eyeballing the placement in the middle. I ended up close but made micro adjustments using the edge of my hard card-stock SD card packaging that I had (I guess a business card would work?). Slipped everything into place and it looked great. I then thought, “how the hell does this not slip off?” So I tapped downward on one of the edges, and the glass just started to affix itself like visual magic - it was really neat to see. After the small screen was completed, I did the big screen very much the same except utilizing the the guides (one on the side, one on the bottom of the edges of the LCD screen). After the prep, glass sticker removal and placement… I noted that the guides as placed worked great with the larger glass’s install: the glass didn’t require the nudge to get it into place; one tap on the corner after it was laying flat and the glass sealed to the surface. (** Note: by “sealed” I mean it isn’t glued… it just made it’s membrane connection (or whatever it is…) to the screen, like an osmotic kind of movement of fluid bringing two smooth surfaces together. It fully seems like I’d be able to remove it easily, the glass, if I wanted to… without damaging the LCD, but I’m not going to because as stated, the install was “flawless”). I think this’ll work out well for me, but not sure how well it’ll do its job over time, but I’m a fan so far. Easy, clean install with the tools to do it right provided in this kit. Price is right, too. Hope this review helps.
