Great quality for the price
Need a host but this one, yes the chain will be greasy, but it's easy to use an does all the work. No straining when you use it. I definitely recommend this if ya need a hoist. I use it to pick up my zero turn for blad an deck work. Has no problems picking it up. Great value for what you get. So far no issues on its durability but only owned it for a Short while.

works fine
I raise up my riding mower to remove the deck or sharpen blades and lubricate. My old cable come-a-long was worn out and let loose occasionally, not good. The chain hoist is not too heavy and operates smoothly. Remember, one ton.

Seems to be just fine
I unpacked the product and set it up to do a test lift. There was a very minor issue that the hand chain had jumped out of the groove, probably from vibrations in shipping. This prevented the hand chain from moving in either direction. I just had to manipulate the wheel around a bit to get the chain back into the groove. Then it worked just fine. I did a test lift of 40 pounds or so and it's working great. I intend to use this for lifting parts in the range of 50 - 400 pounds, less than 25% of the 1 ton or 1000 kg rating. The chains are coated in a dark sticky rust protectant, kind of like used motor oil with STP added. I keep a spray bottle of WD40 mixed with a few ounces of oil so I saturated a few rags with that and ran the chains through them to clean up the chains a bit. So far it seems to be just fine and a good value. I recommend it for similar weight range for occasional home shop use.

Clean before use!
So far works well, suggestion wear rubber mechanic gloves hang it up and use an old towel to wipe the chair as you pull it. (Lotโs of grease on it and it will help from getting it all over you when using.

Easily the best tool in my shop now. A real back saver.
Nice product for the price, easily lifts 1000 lb item in my shop. Like others have commented, the chain is really greasy, so I sprayed it down with Simple Green and wiped it clean and it is much more user friendly now. All in all, I highly recommend this.

Strong chain hoist!
I have a workshop that is 14 by 40 feet. I decided that the best way to transfer heavy, bulky objects from one end of the shop to the other was overhead. I have a large workbench in the middle of my shop so it is hard to get around the sides of the bench. I used a garage door roller track and made a carriage using garage door rollers. I first got a rope block and tackle system, but it didn't work very well because while it was rated for enough weight, it didn't have enough mechanical advantage and was hard to use. This chain hoist is perfect! It's about the same size as the block and tackle but it handles more weight and has a lot of mechanical advantage, so it is easy to use. The chain that is used to lift the load is a continuous loop so there's no excess chain to get in the way. If you need a hoist, don;t bother with a rope-based system. This chain hoist is a really good piece of equipment at a good price!

Works well but extremely greasy
This chain hoist worked well but the chain is extremely greasy. I would not recommend this hoist unless you like to wear and swap gloves at least 2+ times because it leaves a ton of greasy residue onto your hands.

Best Deal! Good quality
Bought this to change and engine in my garage and it works perfectly. Smooth operation, well built, and feels like it will last for a while. Not super heavy duty, but gets the job done and it's by far the best deal out there. As others indicated the chain is very greasy, but this is a good thing!

Chainfall
So far so good. Movement chain could be shorter and be aware itโs very greasy upon delivery so good idea to wear gloves

Good, but I had to modify it
โ โ โ โ โ The chain hoist is solidly built and feels like a quality product. Unfortunately, mine arrived with one chain link installed incorrectly, which prevented it from working. I had to disassemble the mechanism and remove the faulty link before it operated properly. After that, it worked exactly as expected. One more thing to be aware of: the hoist comes with a generous amount of grease on the chain. It works well, but itโs very easy to get grease on your hands and clothing while handling it. I recommend wearing gloves and being careful during installation. Overall, itโs a good product, but quality control could be improved to catch assembly issues before shipping.

Held up surprisingly well for the price.
My engine hoist could not get the engine in far enough to the correct position. We positioned the chain hoist to carry the load and get It Dropped in just right. It was quick to set up out of the box and worked flawlessly. I can see myself getting sing this again for different applications.

No more manually lifting my mower
Wish I had bought this years ago. Use it to hoist up the front end of my Zero turn mower. So easy to change out blades now. Was lifting the mower and putting block of wood under it and the trying to slide 1 arm under to remove/replace blades. Now slide right underneath and have both hands available. So much easier. I'm sure I'll find more uses for this with ATVs etc.
