Okay pyunkang yul, I see you
How does a $15 Essence have this kind of packaging when I’ve spent $35 & got a plastic bottle (laneige cream skin). Not just a glass bottle but a whole presentation w/ a sturdy box & like rice paper. That’s wild. I can’t speak to any long term benefits bc I just bought it while waiting for my haru haru black rice probiotic toner to arrive from yes style, but it feels great. Thick & reminiscent of a Japanese emulsion. (And I love emulsions). Clear, not milky, but very viscose. It even has a pump, I’m assuming bc of the consistency. As a dry skin haver I love a thick, rich, toner. I’ve found great success with the Korean multi step layering technique & that starts with a hydrating essence or toner. I also use actives, & especially in winter my skin was dying while using tretinoin & acids, I find the technique has saved my skin. So starting with a hydrating essence or toner, followed by a serum for hydration & barrier repair, followed by a serum(s) w/ ingredients like stem cells &!peptides; then using my actives, a moisturizer & occlusive, my skin doesn’t become a crusty mess in winter. But again imo, you have to start with a good foundation, which is your essence. Everything else goes on better & you need less of your more expensive serums if you have a solid essence to help build your hydration. My fav has been a milky toner but I’m impressed with the pyunkang yu black tea toner. I’ll have to test it out over a week or 2 before deciding if it stays in my current rotation, but strong start. Def can tell it has a lot of humectants. So I’ll come back after fully testing it, & after testing it against my current fav when it gets here. Also I can’t say I’m not impressed with the care taken with the packaging. It gives a surprise lux experience. It feels like they care about how you see their product. I’m not a packaging snob bc for me I’d rather an excellent formula in a plain dropper bottle over fancy packaging & a lackluster product, but picking up a $15 Essence from a brand I’ve always liked, is a treat. I’ve never had an outstanding PY product for my skin but tbf I haven’t tried a lot. I’ve always had a positive feeling about the brand bc I’d seen how they care about minimal but effective products. A brand that someone like me with very sensitive skin, that is easily triggered to break out, can trust to not cause any additional problems. I also haven’t tried any of their newer products so I’m once again wanting to try new PY out. Everyone has very different skincare needs, even ppl with the same skin type. My daughter also had dry sensitive skin but we often like different products. I’d bought a cream previously from PY I liked but other ppl with my skin type raved about. That made me think it just didn’t have products that suited my skin yet & forgot to check them back out. But they’ve hooked me again & I’ll def do a full review later.

Great product
Great product. Really smoothed my skin and made the rest of the skincare go on much better. I have oily/combination skin and this has caused no problems at all

Good product
Coulda swore I left a review for this already, but I guess not. Initially, I wasn't that impressed....but I'd only used it once or twice, then went back to my go-to essence (Kikamasamune). Yes, I've used the original Pyunkang, when I first got into the 7-layer method, back in 2019. And it's very good. So I bought this last year, and basically shelved it for many months. But then, one day I ran outta my goto. So I had to comb my cabinet for something else, and found this and started using it everyday. I have to say, my skin looks pretty plump and moisturized, and I'm 47. I do use mandelic acid as well, but I feel when I use the PK Black Tea toner, I don't use the MA as much. This is a good essence for 7-layer, and worth the price. The bottle is opaque, and rather skinny, but the essence is viscous and absorbs well. It's a good value, and I'd purchase it again. I also have the PK black tea eye masks, and use it together with the black tea essence, and it's an effective combo.

Nice product
It’s ok I feel for my skin ( I’m 69) it’s too drying it does go on with organic cotton pads nicely and my skin looks very smooth after wards and I will use it til it’s gone but for the moisture factor I won’t order again sorry to say

Outstanding Product
Probably the best moisturizer I’ve ever used! And I’ve tried manyyyy different products to try to moisturize and hydrate my face. I have sensitive skin that’s both dry and oily depending on the part of my face, so I can’t handle creams or anything heavy or thick. This product is light, smooth, non-sticky, and very minimally fragranced, which is perfect for my skin, but you can tell it still has substance to it. Some products feel like glorified water, but not this one. It feels like you’re bathing your face in vitamins. It feels so good to put on - I’ve never enjoyed a facial product so much! Every time I’m by my sink I keep putting more on haha. It’s so refreshing. Love.

Must have for lightweight moisture
This has quickly become one of my favorite serum-like skincare products to use as a moisturizer in warm weather or a layerable serum in colder weather. They call it a toner but it has a more viscous texture than any toner I've tried before. This has a similar texture to the Purito centella serum but maybe a little thicker. The ingredients are great too; you've got panthenol, hyaluronic acid, ceramides, cholesterol, beta-glucan, ginseng, black tea, all kinds of centella asiatica compounds, and niacinamide. This is a great product that I think would work well for most skin types.
