SLEEP LIKE A ROCK...
On the hierarchy of health, sleep trumps almost everything else. It's the low hanging fruit that can affect health metrics more than just about anything else. It's the time when body and brain detox, recover, rebuild and restore. How amazing is your sleep? Exactly what I thought! Instead of writing a long boring article about sleep, I'm bullet pointing this...- Get morning sun exposure (at the same time everyday) to regulate sleep / wake cycles.- Finish your last meal at least 3 to 4 hours before bedtime... trust me, you can do this.- Earthing... you can do it the old fashioned way or you can use grounding sheets like we do (Google it). We go on barefoot hikes all the time... we use an EMF meter to make sure there are no electrical fields around our bed... we turn off the wifi (actually don't have wifi but you do, so turn it off at night)... put your phone in airplane mode and make sure that there are no electronics (nor lights) anywhere near you.- Your sleep temperature should be between 64 and 68.- Use blackout curtains and blackout blinds... room needs to be pitch black. No battery lights, no night lights, nothing!- Use Himalayan salt lamps at sunset instead of regular lighting.- Wear UVEX safety goggles at least 2 hours before going to bed... this one is seriously a big deal. They cost $9 and they make all the difference. If you're not going to do anything else, do this!- Last but not least, sleep on the floor like our tribe does... why you ask... because our bodies were never meant to be in a cast, courtesy of your bed, all night. Why do you think you wake up feeling like a stiff Rick. Katy Bowman is a biomechanist and author of Move Your DNA. She sleeps on the floor. She got us sleeping on the floor.Yeah, I know, the last one is bit extreme but you have to ask yourself... how badly do I want this... how badly do I want to be strong, healthy and happy again... what am I willing to do... If you're like most people reading this right now, there's little that you wouldn't do to reclaim these virtues. Prioritize your sleep! It's the single most influential thing you can do right now to support your health journey. No, you don't have to go all in and start sleeping on the floor but you do have to get early morning sun (on skin and through retina), connect to the earth and spend 10 bucks on the UVEX glasses. Start sleeping like our early ancestors did to build your biological resilience.

If you play outdoor pickleball, these are for you
I need polycarbonate, blue-light blocking, UV-blocking glasses to play pickleball outdoors. (This sport is really big in Georgia, but throughout the southeast, really). I bought the 3-pack of these glasses to try. Voila! They are perfect for my sport. (And likely they'd work for other outdoor sports as well).Well, how have I concluded this? First, the optics are certainly good enough for me to track a pickleball, even for an old (>70) banger like me. Second, they cover pretty much the entire orbit - you know, the part of your skull with your eyeball, so that no dust gets in; in Georgia, we have that red clay dust you haven't seen since the old Flash Gordon messed around on the Planet Mongol. But, for an important third consideration, there is sufficient ventilation so that they do not fog up (although I have to say that I've started to wear that John McEnroe style headband which absorbs and wicks a whole lot of perspiration; I think it makes me look cool(er), but nobody in our group compliments me on the new look although they envy my sweatless face). Fourth, the ear pieces are adjustable; this is important since each of us has a unique skull conformation. And, fifth, you bloody well cannot believe how the world looks when you filter out the blue until you wear these: the lines on the court are vivid so calling shots is much easier; the net and the players stand out in contrast to the trees and grass of the surrounding scenery; even hitting an overhead against a lob your opponent shot into the sun - yes, your friends will do that to you, and then apologize - is certainly no worse, and I think a lot better, than getting a decent sighting with fancy sunglasses (I've been wearing LL Bean fly-fishing sunglasses). It also seems to me that it takes virtually no time at all to accommodate your eyes to the no-blue daylight since my eyes are not shaded, but rather filtered. If you are an outdoor pickleball player, these are for you. A bunch in my group are already cruising around Amazon looking for these, and shortly I will lose my advantage over them. Until then, however, I am feared.Seriously, folks, you need to remember that as you age, you will suffer from visual glaring and you will have trouble interpreting color changes even against a constantly changing outdoor scene. You may have problems visually tracking objects. Your cornea ages as you do, and of course so do the ocular muscles. So if you play a game like pickleball, where visual tracking is crucial, give yourself every legal advantage you can. (So, no, you can't hire Kyle Yates to play for you; that's illegal, and he charges too much). Try these glasses. What the heck. You've already spent enough on paddles, right?

Edit: Promt fixing for the issue where I Bought a 3 pair pack and I only came with 1 pair
Edit (original review below): From the time I submitted the issue, the package was resent in 2 business days during the holiday season with the appropriate amount this time. I tried out the glasses to make sure they were a good product for my family... and they're comfortable while hugging your face to completely block blue light, they tint the entire world orange 😅 (dunno if that's an issue for others but it's not troublesome for me and I'm a video editor in my spare time) because of their high percentage of nm blocked, and they seem like they probably wouldn't fit too well on children even though they are adjustable frames (the glasses seem like they would be too big to fit snug like they do on an adult. I figured I'd adjuat my review to give credit where it's due instead of leaving it a 1* when they addressed and fixed the issue immediatelyThis was meant to be stocking staffers off the cyber Monday sale and now I have to wait for them to replace them. The package even says 3 pairs on the box but the box isn't even big enough to fit a second pair in it, let alone 3. I double checked to make sure. It's one pair. I requested a replacement but I don't know if they'll come in time now.
