Supernatural: Seasons 1-5 Box Set

This is a must for any fan of the supernatural itself. They take things to the weird and extreme. They push more bounderies than anyone even know exsisted. Dean, the hunter at heart and Sam the reluctant one, travel from place to place. Trying to make the world a safer place for all of us that live in it. Do be afraid of the monsters in the closet and under the bed. But always know that Dean and Sam will be there to take care of them and to keep you safe. The love/hate relationship (hate on Sam's part)between these two brothers is very touching and will make you cry. All the things that Dean has done for Sam to be able to go to school and Sam doesn't even realize it. Dean has been watching over and taking care of Sam since he was 4 and Sam was 6 months old. That is a lot of burden to place on a 4 year old boy, but Dean has lived up to that and when it comes down to the wire even is willing to die for Sam. Need to own so that you can watch over and over again.

I've only recently gotten into Supernatural, after catching a handful of episodes on TNT in the morning; and I've really come to love it. So of course I thought, "I'm gonna get the DVD's, and then I can watch it whenever I want." And I don't regret it. I thought the price was very reasonable, especially considering the near-perfect condition they were in. The cases were bent a little bit, but the DVD's are excellent. Also, the shipping was very fast. The estimated arrival date was from September 16- October 3. And I received it Sep. 17th. Great product!

I love Supernatural! I've never bought CD's of TV show before but I really love the show....interesting, fun, exciting and funny and dramatic - and 2 cute guys all in one show (3 cute guys if you count the angel). These have interviews and outtakes included.

I LOVE Supernatural! This was an awesome deal for all 5 seasons! I can't wait to start watching them! I will be looking to buy Seasons 6 and 7 soon - I will definitely look to this seller!

We ordered the box set for my daughter's birthday. When it arrived today, we received each individual DVD package (Individual seasons 1-5). Which was disappointing. We specifically wanted a box set. The picture and the description is obviously for a BOX SET not individual DVDs. Feeling disappointed.

Great product, very happy with them. Also received sooner than anticipated, so that was great, considering it was an international purchase. Postage to NZ was 3 weeks from time of order. Much appreciated.

I found that some of the discs skip or will not play right. Very disappointing but not all of the discs do this.

Bought the product over a year ago and just recently opened up my "new" dvd sets and found that quite a few of the discs were scratched and one will not play on any device I have in my home. To me that is not new that I paid for. I will never buy from this vendor again.

Supernatural a été une réelle surprise pour moi. J'ai regardé la 1ère saison un peu "comme ça" : le thème du surnaturel était sympa, la réalisation vraiment pas mal et le casting aussi. Mais le défaut principal de la 1ère saison, c'est-à-dire une intrigue trop décousue, disparait complètement au cours de la saison 2. Je m'explique : nous avons l'intrigue principale des 2 frères qui recherche leur père disparu au cours d'une chasse au démon un peu particulière (je caricature), entrecoupée dans cesse d'épisodes qui n'ont rien à voir avec cette histoire. Attention, ces épisodes sont très bien également et permettent de mettre en place les personnages, le contexte et l'intrigue en général, mais on a quand même l'impression que "ça n'avance pas". Ce problème se résout au cours des 3 derniers épisodes de la saison 1 et, au cours de la saison 2, l'intrigue s'étoffe pour prendre un tournant tout a fait inattendu. Et cette intrigue reste une des meilleure que j'ai vu dans les séries actuelles. A tous les fans de fantastique, je conseille vraiment cette série qui n'aura de cesse de vous surprendre et de vous prendre en haleine jusqu'à la fin de la 5eme saison (la suite étant un peu différente).

Habe die Staffeln gekauft weil mein Frauchen sie Super findet und sie nicht alle Folgen kennt. Ich selbst kenne so ziehmlich alle Folgen und finde die Serie vom ersten Moment an super. Natürlich Geschmäcker sind verschieden und das ist auch gut so. Jetzt wo die 6te Staffel grade läuft und es dann direkt in die 7 übergehen soll, ich nun aber auch warte diese zu Kaufen. Für Fans natürlich ein muss, was nicht heisst das sie nur für Fans ist, das einzigste manko eigentlich kann man nicht einfach in die Serie einsteigen kann da es ein doch sehr komplexe Geschichte hat. Es lohnt sich aber sie zu besitzen.

A contender for best TV show of all time! The brothers are now back in action in a 6th season in America, but this is the original 5-year story and it's exceptional viewing. Beginning with season 1, after the death of Sam's fiance by a powerful demon that also killed their mother, the brothers are launched on what will become an epic journey that eventually leads them into both Hell & Heaven. But the first season is spent searching for their missing father, killing many demonic creatures along the way. The second season deals with great sacrifice & loss, leading to the final confrontation with the afformentioned powerful demon. A shortened, but no less spectacular season 3 deals with the consequences of the previous seasons and fear of the horrible fate that awaits them. I'm not here for a review though, because everyone knows how awesome the show is already. I'm here to discuss the possible benefits of owning the Blu-ray versions over the DVDs. First of all, I think it's important to note that season 1 & 2 of Supernatural are only available separately on Blu-ray in America, so if you want them in HD, you'd have to buy this boxset. Now picture quality. Season 1 & 2 on Blu-ray, it has to be said that they are beautiful in this format and it's obvious that care & attention was adhered to when the video was upgraded. Definately much better than the DVD sets! Season 3 & 4 on the other hand, are barely better than the DVD and probably no better than a DVD upscaled. I was so disappointed about this, especially after having seen season 1 & 2. Also, there's no proper disc menu and with 6 episodes per disc, if you don't watch all at once, you have to tediously skip-skip-skip-skip-skip- etc. to the episode you were on before. Maybe because season 1 & 2 were upgraded to Blu-ray after 3 & 4, the changes were made for the better. But to be honest, shouldn't it have been the other way around? Each season of the show, story-wise, is better than the last because of Eric Kripke's vision, but unfortunately, the Blu-rays get worse. Season 5 however, re-dresses the balance and you have all the menus and options that were available on the season 1 & 2 boxsets. Overall, for £60, this is possibly THE best Blu-ray offer of all time. You get the whole 5 year story that was originally planned, in HD and nice sound. There are a few different languages to choose from on each season such as English (obviously, lol)French or Spanish. Subtitles are English, French, Spanish, Portugese, Danish, Finnish etc. There are a fair selection of extras, such as commentaries video diaries and the cool blooper reels. If you're a Supernatural fan, whether you have the DVDs or not, you should buy this set at the first opportunity. You'll never regret it! P.S. Sam seems to have changed from a teenager into a man over the course of the show, but sexy Dean appears ageless!!!

Die Serie ist definitiv was für Gruselfans. Schauspielerisch ist das von den beiden Hauptdarstellern eine Top Leistung und auch die Spezial Effekte sind von guter Qualität. Jede Folge ist sehr kurzweilig. Ich habe jetzt Staffel 1-4 gesehen und hoffe das es so weiter geht.

Supernatural has always been the 'little show that could'. Launched on the old WB channel before switching to the more teen-friendly CW network, somehow this is the show that never seems to fit in anywhere; overlooked by critics who, because of the network on which it airs in the US, dismiss it as another teen show along the lines of Vampire Diaries or Gossip Girl, by viewers who think the same, and by its own network, who have always viewed it as the red-headed stepchild inherited from another network. Sadly, the show has fared little better in the UK, having been bought initially by ITV2, also believing they were getting a show aimed at teens, and then by Living, who got it as a part of a package deal and don't seem to know what to do with it, despite excellent ratings. But if you really want to treat yourself to a show that completely isn't what anyone expects it to be, then you should definitely treat yourself to this blu-ray boxset of the first five seasons. I guarantee after the first few episodes of season 1, you'll be hooked. So what's so special about this show, you might ask? Well, and here's the secret no-one seems to get: Supernatural is actually a show aimed very firmly at adults. Firstly, it features two amazing actors with the best on-screen chemistry I have ever seen - the incredible Jensen Ackles who, was he on Grey's Anatomy or House would surely have been nominated for an Emmy by now, and Jared Padalecki, who you will see metamorphosise from an inexperienced young actor to a mature leading man over the course of five seasons. The show also showcases the talents of a slew of talented supporting actors - Jim Beaver, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Mark Pellegrino, and in latter seasons the marvellous Misha Collins to name but a few, as well as multi-layered writing and a strong story arc, and adult themes of family and duty versus individuality and freedom, fate and destiny, Heaven and Hell, God and Satan, sacrifice and redemption. What other "teen show about two hot guys driving around killing monsters" would feature storylines dealing with self-determination and God's non-involvement in averting the Apocalypse? What other show would send it's lead characters to Hell and back and routinely kill them off when you least expect it? There are so many stand-out episodes in these five seasons that it's hard to recommend only a handful. But if you're looking for comedy, family drama, angst, horror, suspense, action, thriller and the odd slice of philosophy all rolled up in one fantastic HD package, look no further: Supernatural is the show for you!
