Q: The z grill has a 3 year factory warranty and if I purchase the Amazon 4 Protection plan would my unit be covered for 7 years?

I've read somewhere that the aftermarket warranty will start day one, that being said, if the smoker comes with a 3 year warranty then you'll only be getting 1 extra year added to the manufacturers warranty. You'd have to ask yourself, is it worth the additional investment to only get 1extra year?

I understand your problem. Because there are 2 blowers, I would guess No. At 60Hz, it's a great cooker. The 230 Volt problem can easily solved with a line transformer. Unfortunately, the frequency would be a problem. Something in my memory leads me to remember that this unit is built in Canada. If that memory is correct, perhaps Z GRILLS can supply a unit for your needs. Walley B

Q: If I want to use this as a grill and set the temp to 350, how long can I expect to wait until it is ready to grill a steak?

I’ve never sat there and timed it, but I’d say you’re to temp within maybe 15-20 mins. Personally, I sear my steaks on cast iron and then smoke my steaks. The flavor that way is delicious. In my opinion, this doesn’t quite grill the same as over coals. When I’m in the mood to grill, I use my old Weber kettle grill.
