I thought this would be just as good as the others for a lower price. While I had no problems getting it to work with IR remote devices (TV, air conditioner), it steadfastly refuses to recognize any RF devices. The instructions aren't particularly helpful, as they're basically written in nonsense-ese. A video how-to is available on the usual sources, but following those instructions didn't get any results. No web site or any other reference in the documentation for tech support. No evidence of a way to maybe update the firmware, if there is such a thing for this device.Not worth the trouble to me to return (I'm not in the USA), so I'll just go ahead and order the Broadlink RM4+pro that I should have bought in the first place to automate my roller shade motors.

This is a universal controller with two modules. The modules are meant to be placed inline on a cord which isn't my favorite option. This only works with frequencies available; it cannot learn. This works with an app called smart life. A lot of generic IoT devices seem to use that app now. If that continues, the cheap generic options could start gaining dominance. This is ok quality, but nothing amazing. It is light and plastic. This is easy to pair, and the app is ok. Overall this is a nice automation tool for common devices.
