All isn't as promised
Simple to install. Saved a fortune. I've been doing it this way every year. However, on Android one function was free then they did an update and wanted to charge for that feature. Personally I believe it's some kind of breach of contract but I've got better things to worry about.

Aggressive advertising and high renewal costs
So compared to the early 2000's when Norton Antivirus was such a system hog it made all but the most powerful computers grind to a halt, Symantec does appear to have turned this around with Norton 360. Initially I was impressed with the relatively low overhead and features, also in the knowledge that Norton 360 consistently scores highly with most AV tests. However, there is definitely some questionable business practices going on which has ultimately forced me to uninstall the software and look elsewhere: - For starters you need to register a Credit Card to install the product, at which point auto-renewal is automatically activated. Make sure you cancel this straightaway because even though you might buy your Norton 360 Premium for 5 devices for about £20, the autorenewal will set you back the best part of £100 for a year. Cancellation of auto renewal was also trickier than expected with constant attempts to sway me to stay by offering an extra 90 days protection. - I soon became very bothered with the amount of ads and popups from Norton 360 itself, trying to convince me to buy Norton Utilities. It does this by popping up a dialog saying that your computer needed a scan, it would then say you have x number of things making your computer run slowly etc. but when you click 'Fix' it, it would then try to get you to purchase Norton Utilities. Even if you click "Don't show again" it keeps coming back. I had to delve into the settings to turn off some of this stuff but really it shouldn't be doing it in the first place! - Norton Life lock seems useful on the front of it but it asks for a lot of additional personal information such as NI number, bank details etc. so they can alert you if your details are being used on the Dark Web. I chose not to provide that though. What a lot of users don't realise is that your details end up on the Dark Web when a site you have signed up for in the past has been compromised. You have to ask yourself what happens if Norton gets compromised when they have all your personal details and not just your email and password! My initial positive experience of Norton 360 was ultimately marred by the overly intrusive behaviour of the software. I like my AV to sit in the background and protect me when I need it. This overly aggressive advertising and other questionable functionality has lead to me uninstall the product and never look at Norton again.
