Pentair Pentek DGD-5005-20 Big Blue Water Filter, 20-Inch Whole House Sediment Filter
Been using the Pentek DGD-5005-20 in my Big Blue housing for a few years now and it's doing exactly what I need. The dual-gradient density design does a great job catching sediment progressively — coarser stuff up front, finer particles as water moves through — so it doesn't clog as fast as the cheaper single-layer filters I tried before. Water pressure has stayed strong. Fit was perfect in my standard 20-inch Big Blue housing, no issues there. Installation was straightforward, and it seems well-built for the price. I'm planning to just keep a few spares on hand for swaps every few months depending on usage. Great value if you're dealing with sediment, rust flecks, or dirt in your water supply. Would recommend to anyone with a whole-house filtration setup

Removes odor, perfect fit
Perfect fit, it's my go to filter for the house. It is great at filtering out particles the well pump might pick up. I swap them out st least every 6 months.

Whole house filter
Seems to be a well made filter for whole house system. Hope it lasts longer than 6 months though and keeps a high flow (GPM) in house.

Does exactly what it should
Works extremely well on our iron rich, high sediment well water. We use it as a pre filter on our Culligan Iron removing water softener. We replace it every 60 days.

Works great
Used as a pre-filter to a larger system in a big blue 20” canister. It catches a lot of stuff. By the time I change them out, they’re no longer clean. Helps lengthen the life of my downstream filters.

Work as expected.
These work well for me. Seems to remove a lot of the soluble iron. These are made in China and for a simple dual gradient wound cartridge I am ok with it. For my carbon block I buy the Pentek series made in Dover, NH, USA and the price of those is reflected accordingly.
