Sun Dials and Time Dials: A Collection of Working Models to Cut and Glue Together Paperback – January 1, 1988

This is an out of print book from a UK publisher that includes a number of different ways to build sundials, and (working) paper models of each type listed. I wish it was a little more detailed in how to calculate the right dimensions for various locations, but it's good enough. There aren't exactly a lot of resources for this sort of thing, so I'll make do with what I can get.

Incluye una maqueta para construir un nocturlabio, o reloj nocturno para saber la hora mirando las estrellas, y otra para contruir una brújula solar.Lo pedí de segunda mano, pero la calidad de la encuadernación, las tapas y las páginas es notable. Nada que objetar.

This is one book that you really want to learn something when you pick it up. The sundails themselves are fairly straight forward to. I must admit I really did not know a whole lot about them, but now I find then facinating

We have made some of these and have to say they are good, they do work - I photocopied them onto card so as not to cut up the book so our models are slightly small as book size is larger than A4 but it does not stop them working. Keeping the templates in the book whole means we can remake the models if needed.

A good value book - plenty of sundials to cut out and try. It wets your appetite to make others of your own design. Good for GCSE Astronomy students
