Sizing is odd
I have large hands for a girl, so I measured my hands according to the instructions and ordered a pair of large gloves. Too big! So I got the small instead, and it was perfect. They did exactly what I needed, the support was just enough to give my thumbs relief instantly and keep them from getting sore at work. The problem with them is that some of the stitching comes undone after a while, so I only got about 5-6 months use out of them. However, I did wear them several hours each day, 3-4 hour shifts just while I was at work. It took care of the pain, but I think I need to replace them since the pain is coming back, but I've been working longer hours so that might be part of the problem. In short, once you get the size right, they're great, but they don't take a ton of wear and tear.Edit: I should mention what kind of work I do so you get an idea of what kind of strain I was putting on the gloves. I'm a library page, which means lots of lifting and grabbing, and, the main reason I needed these gloves, opening and closing dozens of DVD and CD cases. Even pushing a cart of books around can put pressure on the thumbs. I have a bad habit of grabbing too many books at a time, so the restriction in these gloves helps a LOT.

Excellent Help For Miserable De Quervain's Tenosynovitis Flair-Ups!
I have now bought 6 of these IMAK Arthritis Thumb, Size: Large (Up to 4-1/4") – Flexible Thumb Stabilizer – Feel The All-Day Difference – Relieves Sore Thumbs – Turns Inside Out to Fit Either Hand – Vented for Breathability, size large. This Thumb Stabilizer Glove fits either one of my Women's size large hands. It arrives in the right-hand mode. Just turn it inside out to use for your left hand. I use it on both of my hands, depending on when I hurt one.Since February 2018, when I bought my 1st one of these Thumb Stabilizers, I have relied on them for whenever I get painful attack of De Quervain's Tenosynovitis (Mommy's Thumb). Depending on what I did to cause a flair-up will direct which hand I need to wear this on.Today, 09/05/2022, I was just picking up a laundry basket when I popped a tendon and the darn De Quervain's tenosynovitis flared up in my left wrist and thumb. The 1st thing I do is massage my wrist and thumb area a bit. Then I slip on one of these Stabilizers.I just never know when I will get a De Quervain's tenosynovitis flair-up, so I always have these IMAK Flexible Thumb Stabilizers clean and ready to go.These seem to last a long time.I end up using at least one of these every few months when I get a flair-up. Then I'm usually having to wear these for a few weeks until the tendon relaxes and heals. These Thumb Stabilizers are very easy to clean. Just hand-wash them in a sink or small tub of gentle soap and warm water. Rince well a few times. Then squeeze out the water, roll in a towel to get the rest of the water out, and hang them to dry. I have been doing it this way for years and I have never had any problems. I would NOT recommend throwing these in a washing machine and a dryer though. They are too small and there is a lot of stitching on them to get snagged in a washer. A dryer would ruin the elasticity too! Just hand-wash them! The actual thumb stabilizer part is a sewn-in, flexible, but firm support. It is NOT a metal bar!The entire glove is comfortable, if you buy this in the correct size.To pick the correct size for you, go by the sizing chart in the photo.I already knew that I take a Women's size large glove. I measure 8 inches all the way around my hand at just below the knuckles, excluding the thumb. So, if I go by the sizing chary on this amazon ad, and just measure on side of my hand, that is 4 inches. So, I take a large and it fits perfect for me.As far as a fit for men? I think a Women's large is probably close to a men's medium. But for Men with larger hands, You may have to ask the seller where to get one.

Flexible AND works for Left or Right Hand!
I like this a lot splint a lot and I'm using it for computer keyboard work.It is a flexible splint, it gives a gentle support for the thumb. It does not constrict the rest of your fingers. This splint is not adjustable for fit so you need to order the correct size. It comes out of the box ready for use on the right hand. To use on the left hand, you must turn it inside-out, which is very easy to do. I'm using it on my left hand for my painful De Quervain's Tenosynovitis and it is helping. For sizing:I am apparently in between the Medium and the Large size for this splint. I normally wear a size small or medium in a unisex glove.I ended up buying both a Medium and a Large, to see which fit I liked best.I don't like tight fitting splints when you have to pull them on and off like a glove, because that hurts my wrist as I pull them off.The large felt perfect around my wrist, but it was a bit loose around the hand. The medium fits perfect around the hand, but it feels a bit too tight around my wrist. I am hoping that the medium size will stretch a bit around the wrist and then it will be perfect. Both sizes support my thumb. The medium is, of course, a bit sungger. The padding in both sizes seemed to be placed in an odd position for my hand, as I was expecting it to be more under my palm. The padding is sewn-in on one side of it, so you can't adjust it. Now that I'm more used to it, I see that the padding works well for when you are typing and rest the heel of your palm on the keyboard. It is comfortable.I haven't washed these yet but when I do, it says to just hand wash and air dry. Pretty simple. Conclusion: I recommend this splint for a folks who desire a lighter support with some flexibility.

Keeps my hand going on arthritic thumb days
I have arthritis, tendon, and nerve pain! My thumb is usually the first to give way when I've been doing too much craft work to keep myself amused. This supports my thumb while I do other things if I've overdone it, or just let my hand get too cold. I love the gentle support as opposed to immobilisation, so I can do more things, but get a reminder of any potentially painful things before they happen. Being cotton is great, as I also get pain of my hands get too hot, so can't wear the usual neoprene gloves. I have quite a variety of imak gloves now, and find them all very useful in their own way, and reasonably durable too. Good value if you want to keep your hands active.

Not bad..
I bought this to help my arthritic thumb joint, hoping it was as good as the one I had a couple of years ago and it's not bad. It has 2 fairly rigid supports for the thumb and some padding at the bottom of the palm (which I guess is for computer use). The fit is pretty good once on, although quite hard to pull on if your other hand is arthritic and I also found that the thumb supports were a bit long for my thumb. It's not as easy to use my hand as in my previous glove, but it does support and therefore ease the pain at the base of my thumb. It's also a shame that the padding is not removable - I unpicked the stitching and pulled it out as it really does get in the way.
