Soothing Eye Makeup Remover 3.4oz (100ml)

Excellent. This is the only product that does not cause me any allergies. I don’t know why. You just need to wash your face after using it, because it contains substances that should not remain on the skin.

I wear contacts and due to our hot and humid weather, I perspire…a lot (menopause was a blast). At the minimum I at least like to wear mascara, but only waterproof. I fell asleep last night with a full face of makeup, including eyeshadow, eyeliner, lip stain…the whole nine yards. My eyes were irritated because my contacts were dried out. I immediately (and blindly) reached for this Laura Mercier “soothing” eye makeup remover. Using cotton pads I was able to easily and effortlessly remove every bit of makeup. Typically afterwards, the skin around my eyes is a little tender. I always use a gentle touch but it’s just something I’m used to. I was surprised at how NOT irritated my eyes were, especially since my contacts were dried out. I always, always remove my contacts before removing my makeup. Half awake I realized I’d used this product on one eye while wearing a contact. And it did an amazing job. I normally use a name brand remover that feels like petroleum oil - the way Vaseline feels. It usually gets in my eyes and I have to rinse them out afterwards. Not with this LM remover. I received this through Amazon Vine at a discounted price in exchange for my review. But when I love a product I’ll definitely purchase on my own. I know LM is a “higher end” cosmetic (I use her flawless foundation), but I do think the price is a bit high. I did some research and $29 is the going rate everywhere (LM site, Nordstroms, NMarcus etc). I wish this came in a larger size, but I love this stuff so much, I’ll just have to bite the bullet when it comes time to replenish. I do recommend this especially for sensitive eyes and/or if you wear contacts.

It seems quite expensive for the size, however, this Laura Mercier eye makeup remover feels gentle on my skin and removes my eyeliner and waterproof mascara almost instantly. I have been using makeup remover wipes for years because of the convenience, so it was a challenge using this liquid remover for the first time. I squeezed the product onto a cotton pad and it squirted all over the place, due to my lack of experience, but it did a gentle and thorough job. I would definitely recommend this product for those who like using a liquid remover, but I personally prefer the ease and convenience of a makeup remover wipe.

To start, this bottle is way too small to justify its price tag. Next, it stung my eyes. Not immediately, but after about 3 seconds after application. It also left white crusted areas all over my eyes. So, even though I purchased it based off of the other glowing reviews, it was bad. Consider avoiding this just in cost alone.

This stuff is powerful! I squeeze a few drops on a cotton pad and I can swipe both eyes and eyebrows twice and my waterproof mascara, eyeshadow, waterproof liner and eyebrow pencil are gone! I like that this formula is not greasy, is odor free and very lightweight. It wipes away clean and easily and doesn't affect or "coat" my contacts, so I can keep them in while removing my eye makeup. This is great for carving out my brows after I apply my products or for cleaning up uneven eyeliner wings. I always hated using concealer for this and now I don't have to. Laura Mercier is a high quality brand and this formula is wonderful. It is on the higher end of budget, but I feel that the quality, the tiny amount of remover needed to do the job and the trust I have in this brand will allow me to continue to keep this in my skincare routine.
