Each battery is charged individually. This means that batteries of different types and with different capacities and charge levels can be inserted and charged / discharged. After fully charged, the charger automatically switches to impulse maintenance charging and keeps the battery topped up to 100%. The batteries can remain in the charger or removed when charged. Even deeply discharged batteries (NiMH over 0.2V / Li-ion over 2V) are also charged and do not have to be disposed of as "defective", but can be used for a little longer. For more functions - the device offers the option of setting the charging program and charging current for each charging slot individually. The selected setting is indicated by an arrow in the LCD screen. Just inserting the batteries the charger charges gently with 500mA until the battery is fully charged. Three batteries with up to 1500mA or two batteries with 2000mA can be charged if required. The charging time is reduced accordingly.
