Works great, goes bigger that the specs say.
Shaft size is .12 inches. Largest shaft I could chuck was .052, you have to completely unscrew the hood, place the shaft in the jaws, and then replace the hood to pull that off. Why would I do that? To make a micro paint stirrer out of a paperclip... and it worked great. If you work on small stuff this is a must have.

Read sizes..... Its kinda tiny even for rotary tools
Its quality for sure.... I unfortunately did not realize how miniature it is... Its great looking just not sure if it will actually fit anything other than a paper clip and have any grab.... Sooo tiny... Not even sure i use shaft sizes small enough.... Rugged as it gets though... Pay attention to sizes.... I misread the decimals lol...

This chuck is TINY
On the package: Gyros Precision Tools, Inc, Monsey, New York. # 45-01801, UPC 780670455019 1/8" shank mini adapter chuck, collet capacity 0" - .039" #61-#80 drills. "Works with Dremel and similar rotary tools" Max speed 30,000 RPM. Made in USA. In the package: 1 mini chuck. 1.214" overall length, .121" dia shaft (.445" length to shoulder), .258" dia knurled screw (.083" long) which tapers to about .190" at the tip. Throat depth (how much of the bit sits inside the chuck) is approximately .510". My chuck did not have the taper on the shaft below knurled knob as shown in the picture and is all black. First impression is that this thing is VERY small. Even in its shelf packaging, I almost missed it in the Amazon envelope. The chuck is nicely machined and the very fine thread (about 40TPI) works smoothly. Although the chuck is supposed to handle .039" (1/16"), I was not able to get a 1/16" drill bit into the chuck, the bit was simply too big. The chuck does close down to nothing (0"), so you could put the finest of wires or bits inside to do whatever detail work you are trying to accomplish. Nice tool, down 1 star for not handling it's rated capacity.

Two Collets the same size
opened packaging and found that two of the collets were the same size and the drill bit I was using would not fit which needless to say did not make my day apparently their quality control is lax

Garbage!
I bought one of these exact items s few year ago and it was perfect. Bought one to replace it and the cuts to hold bits and whatnot were so far off of center that the bit makes a circle instead of spinning centered. Got it replaced by one with the exact same problem but not quite as bad. Still makes it unusable. I don't know if it's a bad run or horrible quality control or both but I wouldn't waste your money. It too bad because the first one worked great but now I'm 1 for 3. I don't like those odds.

Nor what i expected
Good if you are using anything about as thick as a sewing needle. Defi ately NOT worth the money costs around $15.00 with shipping. If the shipping fee was the cost of a postage stamp and an envelope, (that would definately have been sufficient) then might be worth it. It is a decent quality, and may prove to be useful for a very limited amount of applications. Just not what i needed. I felt slighted when i recieced the envelope in my mailbox. There are plenty of options with a few different sizes for the same or less that accomidate more sizes. Remember "haste makes waste". Ah...a lesson learned on my part! At least i can say i bennefitted...is that right (bennefit) from the experience. No gripes on behalf of manufacturer, disapointment falls on behalf of retailer in this case

This little chuck works perfectly. It holds very tiny ...
This little chuck works perfectly. It holds very tiny drill bits securely and allows them to spin without wobbling. It also makes it less likely for you to break a drill bit because the length of the drill bit can go up the center of the chuck. This way you can have 1/4" inch or less of the drill bit that your using actually protruding from the bottom of the chuck.

Just what I needed
I'm very happy with this product. I purchased it to use with a set of micro drill bits. My first project was drilling a 0.145 inch hole into the idle jet of my snowthrower. Would recommend and buy again.
