Air Filter Easy to Change

Expensive and this particular filter puts out a strong scent the first day of use.
The Alen pet odor hepa filter definitely has a strong scent when you first install it. I never had this issue with the other types they sell and we've been running our Alen units for over 5 years. The smell goes away after running the filter for a day, but be prepared for it if you get this filter. I was reading about this and I think it has to do with the fact that this filter has charcoal/carbon in it and it absorbs basically any scents. I am assuming it absorbed the scents while it was stored away. I hope Alen listens to all these reviews about the odor and addresses this. As long as you don't use the Pet one, you won't have issues with odor. We have been ordering the "smoke" one and it is perfectly fine day one. I am sure the Pet one filters odors much better, but the initial odor puts us off from using that particular one. These huge filters are the best and last about 10 months before needing replacement. 4/5 stars due to the pet odor specific filter having the off gassing odor for 1 day. Other than that very happy with the other filters they sell.

Is doing a great job filtering out moldy smells in our home
This filter is taking away the moldy smells in our home and I place it in areas that have a strong smell either with cooking or cleaning products and it eliminates the smell in a timely manner.
