## Overview

Newtex Z-Flex Self-Adhesive Heat Reflective Tape is a premium aluminum foil tape laminated to fiberglass fabric, designed to reflect 95% of radiant heat. ## Description

Z-Flex Aluminum Foil Tapes are designed for thermal insulation and lagging applications that require heat reflectivity. Though aluminum foil tape is suitable for many heat shielding and high temperature lagging applications, it is not suitable for applications in which the foil will be subject to stretching, twisting, vibration, or other repetitive movements. Once aluminum foil tape is bent or crinkled, the creases cannot be removed. Z-Flex Aluminum Foil Tapes are available with a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing designed to hold the tape in place during application.

Review: It stuck to a broken doggy door in freezing conditions! - My puppy chewed up the flap of his doggy door, and we got this tape the next day! It worked, and it’s still in place. I didn’t think it would last this long because my dogs go in and out 24/7 through that doggy door. Until the replacement flap finally arrives, this is an excellent fix!
Review: Works great over insulation for turbocharger exhaust wrap - I needed this to add to and protect the exhaust system insulation. This keeps road debris off of the wrap under the car and inside the engine compartment adds additional heat containment, keeping the under hood temps down. It also improves throttle response and reduces turbo lag. The adhesive helps with initial installation but won’t holdup when exposed to prolonged heat so I use a lot of stainless bands offered here on desertcart. After everything is tight and leak free I use the high temp silicone spray paint offered on desertcart to seal the whole system to reduce rust and corrosion that wrapping seems to cause. This is a lot easier than the 0.010 stainless stock that I’ve used in the past.

**Q: Can this heat tape for granite around cooktop**
A: It can be but this tape has fiberglass in it so you may not want to have it near any food being cooked.

**Q: Will this work and stay on a cracked John Deere tractor hood if used on top and inside hood?**
A: While the tape is adhesive, it's primarily used for heat deflection or reflection.  The areas I have used it on it has stayed, but I would offer the consideration of going with a more structural tape.  Just a suggestion.

**Q: Is this the right product for protecting water pipes during winter?**
A: No, it is the insulation of pipes in the engine compartment of a car. And and doesn't have very good glue.

**Q: can one wrap exhaust manifold with this tape?**
A: We recommend using a vermiculite-treated fiberglass wrap (like Newtex's ZetexPlus Exhaust Header Heat Wrap, available on Amazon) or a basalt wrap (like Newtex's Z-Rock 2.0" Exhaust/Header Wrap & Pipe Tape, also available on Amazon) due to the temperature requirements of this application.
