This is a slice-of-life manga, with pacing and humor similar to Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei , except it isn't a gag comic but rather a serial tracking the life of one person. I only sort-of got the first volume of this manga, but volume 2 is awesome. Its about Tomoko, a plain girl, 10th grade, who has almost no friends. She keeps trying different things to either win a new friend or have fun by herself. The humor is in the pathos, as only a Japanese writer could pull off. She is so innocent and tries so hard and is utterly clueless. The art is fine, though the main character is drawn a little weirdly. I think this is a representation of Tomoko's own self image (a little weird). She has pretty horrible fashion sense, always looks tired ('cause she plays video games all night), and could really use a makeover. The story is the greatest appeal. She is so clueless about how to attract people, but a nice girl, so she will win in the end! Probably. (^_^) Ultimately, its only a matter of time until someone notices her. I look forward to finding out how she eventually breaks out of the shell and finds friends, and, dare I say it, love? (That's a looooooong way off! (^_^) )

This manga series is so good, I love the characters and the humor, It came in really good condition, Would read again!

I thought this was going to be another moe manga like, "I hate you big brother," but I was totally wrong. Way too close
Having read Volume 1, I was expecting big things from vol 2 and I was pleasantly surprised, this volume does live up to the wild ride volume 1 was. This particular volume focuses on summer break and it did hit a bit to close to home, as I would always find myself holed up at home playing videogames and watching tv, only to regret it during school days. Really good read.

No matter how I look at it... Volume 2
Tomoko continues to deliver on the laughs in this continuation of the series. You also cry with her when things get a little sad, because she's such a darned woobie. I really enjoyed it. Definitely pick up a copy, you cannot got wrong. The humor isn't for everyone, especially people who can't tolerate intense awkward situational humor as seen in comedy shows like Louie and Seinfeld.

Same quality as the first
Volume 2 of Watamote has arrived, and if you liked the first book there's no reason not to buy the second. Same quality as the first book physically, and the stories are just as good too. That is to say, very cringeworthy and funny. Hopefully these books sell well enough that the anime gets a US release.

Love the manga, bought it used! It was definitely a lot more used then I thought tho, it had a bookmark still in it, was a tiny bit beaten up, and it was stolen from a library? Whatever though, still good enough to read! :))

Continuing anime goofiness
This volume focuses on the Summer break stories featured in the anime. While it still carries a lot of the cringe from Volume 1, you can see Tomoko's efforts in connecting with characters such as Yuu and the cousin. Still just as silly with Tomoko's perverted thoughts adding an extra layer of hilarity.

Tomoko kinnie
I've been reading manga for years now and this is by far one if my favourite series, volume 2 is just as good as volume 1 and I can't wait to read the other volumes, if your looking for a relatable, somewhat dirty, edgy series to get in to, give this one a go, you wont regret it <3
