Levoit LV600S Smart Warm&Cool Mist Humidifiers for Home Bedroom Large Room

Bought this humidifier based on NYT Wirecutter recommendation. My bedroom is particularly dry over the winter time, so I needed something to bring the humidity level up. This humidifier works great. Easy to set up and run. My bedroom is about 12 x 15 with a cathedral ceiling, and the machine successfully raises the humidity from 30-35% to 45-50% and keeps it at that level over the 8 hours I'm sleeping. I fill the tank with a gallon of distilled water, and I'm able to run it about 2 nights before the water runs out. The noise level is noticeable when it is on, but not very loud. I usually run a white noise machine at night anyway which completely covers any sound the humidifier makes. I do recommend using the heated steam setting over the winter as it seems to make the room more comfortable. As for cleaning, I've had the humidifier about a month, and I've just been emptying the tank every 2 days, taking it apart (which is quite easy), wiping down the parts with a microfiber cloth, and then letting it air dry over the course of the day. That seems to work well. I do plan on doing a deeper cleaning after a month probably following the recommendations made by Wirecutter for how to do that. You have the option to use essential oils if you want to try aromatherapy, however, I've not tried that, and I'm not sure how healthy that would be for overnight use. You can use an app with the machine which gives you better control over the machine (like finer grain control of humidity settings and options to turn off display), but it's not required. It is pretty easy to set up, and I like being able to use the app on my phone to control it from bed when needed. If you need a humidifier, I highly recommend it.

I'll be honest. I fully expected to regret buying this. The price to value ratio seemed off, especially given some of the other highly rated models out there. I love this thing. Had it for about 1-2 months now, and in the desert-y area of Colorado (near Fountain), it's SUPER dry in the winter here. So it gets used every single night in my bedroom. Not only is it plenty quiet, but I love that there are 3 settings for humidy/cold/hot. Add to that the "smart" functionality (silly, I know, but worth it), and this thing is a champion. I love that - if I wanted to - I could schedule when it turns on/off. For my purposes, I pretty much want it on from the time I go to bed until the time I wake up, which uses a full tank of water each night. No worries, as I've noticed on the 2nd setting for humidity it lasts most of the night. You can set a desired humidity level, the unit senses the current room's humidity, and will remain on until it hits that percentage, then shut off automatically. Genius. Too bad my room is too big for that to ever function! Still, I feel noticeably better with it than without. I would also like to highlight how great this thing was engineered from a cleaning/maintenance perspective. After nearly 2 months of everyday use, I finally took the plunge into cleaning. I was amazed to find near-perfectly clean internals! What's more, it's super easy to disassemble. If that isn't cool enough, there's a MANUAL you can access from within the app that gives you step-by-step instructions on how to do it! Vicks, take notes!

I love the Levoit humidifier for our Arizona climate. I have a large bedroom and it works well to keep some moisture in the air, and makes breathing easier, plus, it's great for dry skin. I had to reach out to customer service due to a malfunctioning unit, and within days the new unit was on its way, and they followed up to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. I don't see many companies with exemplary customer service anymore, so it was much appreciated and refreshing.

I really love this unit. It is the best humidifier I've had. The fact that it can maintain a set humidity level relatively accurately is a huge asset. I live in the southwestern US and it is very dry here, and I am also a musician. Having recently purchased a very nice acoustic guitar made of all solid wood, I wanted a humidifier that would keep my apartment at a stable humidity level ideal for an acoustic instrument. This unit does the job but requires some extra steps to make it truly work for me. I've found that under normal operation, the humidifier will run until the internal hygrometer senses that it has reached the target humidity level. Once it has reached the target level, it will stop until the relative humidity drops to 5% below target and then it will run again. However, it will often linger around the target level (according to the display) when it clearly feels dryer than what is being displayed. Now, I have yet to test this with another hygrometer (I need a weird battery for my other one that I have been too busy/tired/lazy to buy), but other people have and they have noticed that the displayed RH% on the Levoit unit is about 10% higher than on another hygrometer. What I have noticed is that if I run a fan in the room, the displayed RH% drops significantly, and then the humidifier is outputting quite a bit more mist and at this point I feel that the RH% on the readout matches what I feel in the room. This is consistent with other reviews. My belief is that the humidity sensor on the Levoit unit is not that well designed. It seems to be fooled by the mist around the humidifier into detecting a higher-than-accurate humidity level. This is easily remedied by running a fan near the humidifier to encourage airflow. About the aroma pad (IMPORTANT!): I DO NOT recommend using the aroma pad. I was really excited for this feature and it plain doesn't work. Levoit says aroma should be "light" and I would agree if you put your nose right up to it, yes, you can smell a light aroma. It does nothing for the room. What it does seem to do is further confound the humidity sensor, making it impossible for the unit to reach anywhere near the target humidity. At one point, I noticed I was getting no mist output for some time after applying oil to the aroma pad and inserting it. I removed the aroma pad, and the readout RH% dropped like a rock! The sensor is right in that area where the aroma box is, so I just bought a separate ultrasonic diffuser to make my apartment smell nice. Other than the aroma box/humidity sensor issue, this is actually a fantastic unit. Very easy to clean, easy to fill and the big reservoir can last a while. If I need to take a trip and I'm gone for a few days, it will keep my apartment humid enough that my guitar is happy. The mist output is strong, and the two rotating nozzles really spread it around. I've heard also that a separate smart-home hygrometer connected to a smart outlet can regulate the unit's output if the unit is set to manual, which would then make it a perfect set-and-forget humidity solution.

2 Year Review - I have had this humidifier for over 2 years now and can say this is a great little workhorse for the money. The app is very intuitive and easy to operate which is one of the better features of this product. I didn't think I would use very often, but it's the main way I operate the humidifier now. I like how it tracks the humidity over time and makes it easy to adjust the humidity level through your phone especially if you're in a different room or even away from your house. It also alerts you when the tank is empty and also sends cleaning reminders. The water tank is just big enough to supply constant humidity over a 24+ hour period, but isn't overly bulky or heavy. The tank is also easy to empty and clean as well as transport from the faucet to the base unit. There's also a nice little drawer on the side to add essential oils for any menthol or soothing scents. Cleaning it can be a bit of a pain with all the plastic pieces but that's with any humidifier. If you don't keep up with cleaning, then you get a ton of mineral deposits on the parts. I do use filtered water which seems to help cut down the amount of mineral deposits. It's recommended to use distilled water, but it's too hard to keep up with buying jugs of distilled water. I just make sure to clean the unit every couple tanks with soap, barkeepers friend, or vinegar to get rid of the deposits and it works just fine. I also don't use the heat setting as that seems to create additional deposits and gunk.

We use this in our condo apartment with a different unit in our bedroom. The Levoit works extremely well, keeping the apartment at a comfortable humidity level. My goal was to keep the apartment in the 40% range. We only use it in the auto mode, and I initially set the unit to 45%, but its humidity monitor reads lower than our stand-alone temp/humidity monitors. It would run constantly even though the other monitors were reading 45%. So I decided to decrease the target humidity, but you can only go in 5% increments using the on-device controls, and 40% was a bit too low. So I did install the Vesync app, which allows you to set any level you want. Our sweet spot is 43%. The app is easy to use and connects immediately to the unit, although I still think it’s ridiculous to have a “smart” humidifier, but to gradually adjust your humidity level in less than 5% increments, you will need the app. Cleaning is much easier than with past humidifiers I’ve had. I use one of those little fish-shaped floating cleaner things that many use in their aquariums, as well as humidifiers. They do a very good job, and so far, my routine is to rinse the unit out weekly and wipe all surfaces with a water and vinegar solution; we’ve had no mold or fungal growth. The unit we use in our bedroom is a Dreo, which also works very well, and it’s also set to 43%, which is our sweet spot. The Levoit is the quieter of the two and would not disturb anyone even if it’s at your bedside. This is a very well-made and good-looking device which I highly recommend.

I bought this to replace my two cool mist humidifiers. Changing the filters every few weeks wasn't so bad with them, it was just all the dust and things would collect on the fans and internal parts and no way to really clean them except by unscrewing things and taking them all apart that wouldn't be fun. The cool mist ones actually do work though in increasing humidity! I wanted to love this thing. I mean it was expensive, worked with an app, Alexa, had a large water capacity and the ability to do either cool or warm mist. It should have been perfect... There are pros and cons though. Pros: 1) The water capacity is great! The top reservoir lifts off easily and has a handle and it's easy to clean. I'd say it lasts about 15 hrs or more before I have to refill the tank. 2) It auto shuts off when the tank is empty and if you use the app you'll get a notification it is empty. 3) It's quiet. Like.. It barely makes any noise! I mostly just use the cool mist option. When you use the warm mist you do hear a slight sound as it's heating the water but even then it's very minimal. 4) The app.. (cons too) When using the options to set the humidity automatically or manually are pretty straight forward. 5) The inner parts of it under the tank seems fairly easy to clean. Cons: 1) My biggest issue is the humidity level. To be honest, it just doesn't really seem to raise the humidity like the other basic evaporative non ultransonic humidifiers I have. Same story with cool/warm mist. I have a separate humidity meter and it seems to be higher then than the one on the LEVOIT when it's running. I mean I see the vapors coming out of it but the humidity barely increases. Having it rain outside works better to be honest. 2) White dust. Yeah so I know they say to use distilled water but that's even more expensive than the filters from the other humidifiers and when it's barely making humidity that's a no. Ultrasonics are known to do the white powder. I have an air purifier next to mine which has the white dust on the outside I wipe off with a paper towel and it can coat the floor around the humidifier I wipe up as well. 3) The app is called VeSync.. The app isn't just for LEVOIT. It's for other brands of different appliances and fitness items as well. Which is ok. The issue is there is the annoying "earn coins" spam like part of the app and a store to buy other products. I just want controls for the humidifier, not added spam notifications. Luckily you can go into the Settings and turn off the spam notification parts. 4) When you set it to automatic to reach a certain humidity and then turn off it may take a while to turn back on. So you set it for 45% humidity and it reach then it will turn off. It doesn't turn back on when it's 44% though. I've seen it dip below into the 30s again and it still hasn't turned back on. It eventually does but I haven't figured out what actually makes it go back on and when. You can update the firmware on it from the app. And I say this because I hope there are updates that will improve how it works. This wasn't a cheap humidifier. I want it to perform better than it has though. It looks well built and is nice to be able to turn on/off away from home. I'm not overly impressed with it's humidifier abilities though but like the bells and whistles with the tech. Sigh.

Je ne regrette pas du tout mon achat. Il vous donne le taux d'humidité actuel ainsi qu'une courbe de ce taux au cours de la journée, hyper pratique. De plus, un réservoir externe permet aussi l'utilisation d'huiles essentielles ! Le prix vaut vraiment le coup selon moi :)
