Perfectly Met My Needs... and more
I originally got this so I could access data from my cell phone's mini SD card on my computer, which at the time didn't have a card reader. However I have used this awesome little device in many other situations. It has been an invaluable addition to the junk I carry around with my laptop. One reviewer said that this will not work as a flash usb drive, and I disagree. I wouldn't recommend that application for everyday use, but if you need a usb flash drive and you don't have one you can usually find or find someone with a compatible memory card and voila you have a temporary usb flash drive. On more than one occasion I have been asked by someone at work if I could loan them a USB flash drive for a few minutes, and this little reader was the solution. Now most laptops and desktops come with these readers built in, but there are still plenty of other devices that have USB but not a card reader or not the kind of card reader you need. I can't attest to the devices relative speed or any other specs relative to any other device. These things were never important to me while I was using it. It's small enough to carry with me everywhere my laptop goes, and every time I needed it, it did what I needed it to.

Great product
I'm not really sure where to start this review. I bought it in early February, because I needed a way to transfer my pictures from my camera to my computer. I looked online for a camera-to-computer cord, but since this was a little cheaper, and supposedly a faster transfer, I decided to give it a try. The product certainly lived up to it's claims. Picture transfer is really quite fast. A picture transfers over in less than a second, with a simple "drag and drop" and I transferred around 200 pictures at once in no time, it couldn't have taken more than 20 seconds.I also love the added versatility of this product. Using it with your SD *or whatever particular card you have* you can essentially use it as a flash drive. I've used it to transfer pictures from my camera, and word documents from computer to computer. The small size allows me to carry it around with me in my camera case, and the inexpensive -downright cheap- price of $9.99 makes it a great bargain.

Awesome, highly recommend it
This is an awesome card reader. I have a micro SD card that I use for my phone (LG VX8300), and I was trying to put mp3's and video files on it, and didn't have any luck with a previous card reader. My computer is also pretty old (Dell Dimension 4100), has Windows ME, plus it has USB 1.1. I thought these would all be a problem, but not at all. Just followed all the instructions carefully, and viola, it works! I've been able to put all my favorite mp3's, full length movies, and tv shows on my 1gb micro Sd card on my phone. I will say that although it said you don't need a driver for Windows ME, my PC prompted me to insert a disc for the driver, so I did (with the included CD), and it worked perfectly. Also, it says that USB 2.0 is required (but that it's backwards compatible with 1.1); but all I have is USB 1.1 and it works great. Love this card reader.

Loose cap and slot cover, design a little awkward
In terms of function USB card readers are a fairly straight-forward product category: you stick your card in and then plug the assembly into a USB port. That's about it. Some people may get hung up on transfer speeds, but I think that's more a function of the card. At any rate, this reader performs that basic function fine.My issues with the reader are in terms of design.1. Loose lanyard cap - The unit comes with two supplied caps that fit over the USB port: one for attaching it to a lanyard and one with a pocket clip. I use a lanyard for my ID badge at work and the lanyard cap was way too loose for the reader. Anytime something (my arm, my jacket, etc.) comes into contact with the reader it pops out of the cap and onto the floor. This may be a flaw specific to my unit, as the other cap fits snugly.2. Card slot cover doesn't fit/work- There is a thin piece of flexible gray rubber designed to cover the slot where cards are inserted. This doesn't fit well and after a couple of uses the rubber stays flexed backward and away from the slot, allowing dirt and debris to get in (especially when it's on the floor). You can't even take this flap off if you wanted to, so it's just kind of hanging off the side of the unit.3. Side loading design - This is getting nit-picky. You plug your card into the side, so the whole assembly looks like an 'L'. I'm always afraid I'm going to break-off my SD card or something when I insert or remove the unit. Mostly, I just think it's ugly. This unit works fine for transferring files, but because it keeps falling off my lanyard it has migrated to the bottom of my gear bag, where it will probably stay.

great little device
This device works beautifully - I know it's simple but that's not to be taken for granted - I bought a different brand at Fry's, something generic, and it worked once and then quit on me! This is the real deal. It also comes with a USB 3" cable extender, which is really handy to have - a place like Fry's will sell you just that extender for 8 dollars at the cheapest! This is definitely a good value.
