Can you connect direct to 2s battery ? instructions say 5v, so i don't know if i need to put a converter to drop from 7.4v to 5v.

The vtx Operating Voltage is 7-20V,so can use 2s-4s battery, and the VTX can supply 5V output for Camera.

This isn’t what i ordered but since i now have it what do i need for a receiver to make it work with an iphone 7?

This transmits on the 5.8ghz freq. ( Commonly used with FPV, or, first person viewing. There are "converters" called OTG that will allow you to see the image on your smart phone. However, these only work with certain phones,. You would better to use a dedicated ( 5.8ghz/FPV ) receiver .

Do you have a battery order # so i can order battery with the correct connector?

The connector is a JST plug. I bought: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0714GN73V This camera and transmitter use so little power, that battery might be more than you need even though it is a pretty small battery. In my tests, this battery will transmit for about 1 hour. I am thinking of getting an even smaller capacity, lighter battery.

Am I missing something to get power on ? I've used the same kind before worked great but this doesn't light up at all ?

Make sure you have + red and - black wire hooked up correctly and I use a separate battery Try to rebind with your Receiver and Radio Transmitter I dont hook into my camera into the Receiver or you can use your assesery plug .. I had one didn't light but it worked on my FPV anyway. Hope it helps
