Sondiko Butane Torch, Refillable Soldering Torch with Visible Fuel Window

I love this little torch. It feels good in your hands, easy to use, a trigger, the best kind. Good price, easy to fill. Quality is good, should last a while.

A fantastic torch for a great price, straight up, no bs. I've had mine for several years now and the only thing wrong with it is that the "stay on" button doesn't work anymore, but that's honestly not an issue for me. The flame is big and hot, but controllable. If you hold down on the -Gas switch while it's on you can get it even smaller. Obviously the flame is largest when the tank is full, and slowly dies down as you use it, but it lasts a good while. You can use pretty much any standard butane as far as I can tell. One thing to be aware of is if it's about full liquid butane will build up in the area around the valve and will probably splash you. It's cold but so long as you don't prolong contact you'll be fine. It's great for all kinds of stuff from lighting incense, candles, or cigars (cigarettes, joints, etc.) to caramelizing sugars and meringues. TLDR: I highly recommend this torch, I've thoroughly enjoyed mine and so have the people I've gifted one to. It's simple, easy to use, and of good quality.

I'm on my 3rd one of these now and just ordered my 4th. They last about 2 years of daily use. The first thing to give out is the trigger-on lock (and this happens with the thumb twist lock version too). which is fine, because I mostly use it in short spurts so I'm clicking it a lot and I don't like leaving butane on. Whatever it is will rattle around inside until you buy your next one... The second thing to go will be the gas valve. At this point it's basically always on. This is generally a late stage failure and the device should be emptied and disposed off at that point. Do I keep buying them? Yes? Are they perfect? no mine literally sits outside on a porch for 2 years, gets clicked like 6-10 times a day for 30-50s each time, dropped constantly and lasts 2 years for under $20. the tip control is perfect. It gets the exact 1" length flame I need right up until that gas valve starts to fail. My 4th one is in the mail. My last one was purchased June 2024 and it's now May 31, 2026. It'll probably last me until the new one arrives, to be honest. I only got it as a spare because I recognized the 'last miles' from the other 2. One of these days I'll disassemble the head and figure out the root cause. The trigger mechanism has been super reliable on all of them, unlike the old thumb push/twist one. That one, the igniter would fail. This one can still make fire just fine.

One of the best torches I have ever bought, lights things on fire and I use it for my firework shows. The adjustable flame is also very nice.

OK so this is my second torch of this type. First one, while I was using it to shrink wrap a small wire splice, I heard a high pitched POP almost a crack and the whole thing burst int0 flames. I contacted amazon and they said it was not returnable [read the fine print] but they were very helpful and refunded me the cost. So I went out and found a difference seller and purchased same type with very littler difference in look. but had a much higher review and cost a couple more bucks. Well right on cue another crack almost pop, but I stopped using it right away. So, I disassembled this one and found something very dangerous. the 2nd photo is the feed tube that goes from the valve to the drefuser on the torch head. this tube is not made of good material and is prone to splitting which will allow the flame to barely stay lit but allows the majority of the gass to leak out inside the housing till it catches the flame. This is very scary because your whole hand a area you are working will flash over in a huge fireball. It was enough to catch my facehair and paper towels on the bench to light. I was looking over the work at te time and the fireball rose straight up into my face singing my face hair [chest hair, mustache, eye brows, eye lashes, and sideburns. Plus receive a very light 1st degree burns [very light, lasted barely 2 days] on cheeks lips and forehead . disassembly is easy and the bad parts was obvious as soon as you pulled the trigger. I was lucky enough to have some Cox fuel line for an micro .025 engine that fit like a glove. plus I glued the h0ose to the brass fittings for extra safeguard. Now it works and I feel safe. Do not trust these torches [ any of them] they can very easily blow a flame ball at your face and if I did not have firefighting training, I would have most defineately freaked out, because all you could see is a fireball at you nose!!

I have a Benzomatic torch for a couple years prior. I needed a second for an assistant on a job using heat shrink connectors. This was cheaper and lights easier.

Great torch, I've been using it for soldering, I like that the thumb button controls the flame, as I often have to put the torch down in between to adjust the solder etc... and i hate it when they are still burning until you switch it off which is tricky when you have hot metals and usuallyholding it in the other hand with tweezers, this one you just take your thumb off and it flame stops. No gas wasted, no burning torch next to you!!
