Perfect match for my car easy to install

Perfect replacement for the hinges on my Ford Escape. The old ones rusted out and Ford wanted a lot more money. The hardest part was getting the old ones off.

Fairly sturdy and heavy, better quality than what I expected. Install was fairly easy, the only issue was the removal of the old hinges, which is not the fault of these hinges obviously. I will say the extra rubber washers confused me, without any install instructions. I installed the first one with only one rubber washer on the window bolt, and it was very loose, too loose actually. I ended up having to take it all back apart and reinstall with a second rubber washer before it was snug enough not to rattle. After the first side, it was fairly easy on the second. Be sure to use plenty of penetrating oil on the old stud through the window, and remove the original plastic shield on the outside, it will easily cause the bolt to bind and could break the glass. They fit nearly as good as original. Also, be sure to clean surfaces thoroughly before installing these, any grit, dirt or leftover corrosion could damage the glass. Remove the shocks on the glass, it can cause alignment issues. Really only complaint is the lack of instructions, but easy to find online how to's, except no one mentions anything about the extra rubber washers.

Used on a 2009 and 2011 FOrd Escape: They are fully coated on the underside (unlike factory units) and should last longer. Perfect fit. No instructions so here you go... videos on youtube, as well. Release the shocks on the glass. Do one hindge at a time to help hold the position of glass. I also used duct tape around the glass for extra insurance and I'm glad I did. The bolts on the glass can be tricky. Use penetrant and take your time. If that fails, you can drill them out (they are just aluminum - 13/64 then chase it with 1/4 - the top spins right off). The parts come with two sets of foam washers. Use both sets to fill the gap around the bolt on the glass. You may have to clean out the hole in the glass from peterfied material - it almost seemed like a plastic washer but alas, it will come out. If you don't it will not tighten down properly. You should have a clean hole through the glass. 96 INCH/lbs torque spec on both bolts. Note the plug that attaches the wiring harness (passenger side) is held in place by a small tab at the 9 and 3-o'clock positions. It will release with the rubber cover intact. Use a small screwdriver to reach the tabs. Finally, I used blue loctite on the threads. The hardest part is removing the bolts on the glass otherwise very easy job.

I have a Ford escape and needed to replace these parts. These were a perfect option. I use the Amazon image feature matched it up perfectly arrived. Fast install was a breeze. Highly recommend.

Fit just like the OEM hinges. No complaints. Seem to be well built. I would personally add some sort of Corrosion Inhibitor to them since the OEMs corroded badly.

The hinge is light material thand original but does the trick price is what you pay for easy to install but Google how or pay price of broken lift gate window
