did some research and these came back as a highly rated filter to use for my first gen kia soul. same size as standard and fit just fine filled up some with oil, lubed seals and hand tightened. no leaks and prefilling with oil gets oil where it needs to go quicker.

PurolatorONE filters are one of the last few high quality filters. They are currently are my top pick for a quality built filter that has excellent filtration qualities. Combine with a quality air filter and quality oil with reasonable oil change intervals (topping around 5,000 miles) they'll help your engine live a longer life (outside of manufacturers making a terrible engine of course, that just can't be helped).

I use these oil filters on a regular basis when changing the engine oil in my car. I change the oil myself and I've been using these filters for a long time now and haven't had any problems with them. I change my oil every 3500 miles, but I'm sure these filters will hold up pretty well for over 5000 miles.

Edit- I'm changing to 4 stars because Amazon made it right and got me one that was not ripped open. Only reason for no 5 star is, it took 3 tries to get me an item that wasn't damaged. The filters are always awesome 2 stars-First order came and the bottom of the filter box was ripped off and missing and the filter was dented... Replacement came and the bottom of the box is ripped off again and the filter was just rolling around the shipping box... Now how an I supposed to trust that this filter has no debris from the warehouse inside of it? Awful job on the shipper or Amazon, this is ridiculous.

I have used both the WIX 51334 and PurolatorONE PL14459 with Castrol GTX 5W-20 traditional oil for nearly 15 years on my 24-year-old 2003 Acura CL Type-S (bought new in April 2002). I have never had any leaks or fit problems, however, it is a very low mileage vehicle (37k miles) so I can't testify to its effectiveness on a high mileage vehicle. I just bought both filters new from Amazon and other than the light blue color of the Purolator and black color of the WIX the filters are almost identical in every way. The height and diameter dimensions are identical, they both have a black gasket, six drain holes, plastic wrap seals covering the open end and are both manufactured in South Korea. Since both brands are owned by German company Mann+Hummel that is not surprising. The Purolator has changed over the years going from a sure grip pebbled texture and tan color to a speckled blue color and now a plain light blue color. I would be surprised if there's much difference in their filtering capabilities. I use them interchangeably and usually just buy whichever one is cheaper. I have confidence that both brands will filter the oil effectively.
