I bought this fan to replace the black magic 3000cfm fan I was running on my 1965 mustang 289. I am really impressed with the quality of this fan. Unlike the flexalite it is almost completely metal and has a sealed water proof motor. It fit my radiator like it was made for it and moves a ton of air. It's hard to tell for sure but it seems to move at least as much if not more air than the black magic fan. It's pretty quiet too. I can hear it kick on if the radio is off but barely. You'll need a relay and temp sensor for the fan as it has no built in sensor. I'm using a kit made by spal for this fan and it works great. Well worth the money and highly recommended! 3-15-15 Over 2 years later and this fan is still running strong. Keeps our 65 mustang nice and cool and has never ran over 200F since it was installed. 11-2-18 The fan relay and gasket are all holding up well. Runs nice and quiet and still keeping our pony nice and cool. Very good quality.

Had to go to a bigger rad fan seems to do the job at 42°C

This fan comes with the four standard mounting brackets to mount it, Amazon did not have that on their listing. Great fan, I'm running it on a '94 4.0L ZJ in place of the stock mechanical fan, and it really helps with the A/C on those 90+ degree days. After owning a flex-a-lite, this Spal seems to be much higher quality and moves a ton (2024 CFM to be exact) of air! I've had a smaller 14" Spal on a truck I own for over 10 years now, and it hasn't let me down yet. Great fan for the 6/4 cylinder engines, but I don't know if it could pull enough to keep a V8 cool.

My 76 Dodge truck with a 360 V/8 began overheating during the Texas summer and during prolonged idling. The temp would climb to 230. I replaced the engine driven fan with a 16 inch, electric puller fan, that I purchased online for $40.00. The "cheapo" fan was advertised at 2475 CFM . It helped a little; however, the temp would still climb to 220 when idling. I swapped my factory replacement brass radiator for a four-core aluminum radiator and it made no difference. I installed the Spal fan (with a true CFM rating of 2020) and now my truck runs between 185 to 190 and it can idle all day. The fan is kind of loud when you standing outside the truck. Not so bad with the motor running or inside the cab. When the fan starts it draws about 20 amps; however, it runs at about 10 amp or a little less. I used a 30 amp fuse and a good relay. The A/C is also much colder. All in all don't trust the cheap fans.
