Hickory Smoked Whole Turkey (9 to 11 lbs)

I followed the instructions for defrosting and the turkey came out of the oven frozen on Thanksgiving. Good thing I made lots of food. I was annoyed but now I think my frig may be set to a very low temp which did not allow the Turkey to defrost. At the end of the day, I cut the turkey in half and sent half home with my mother and I kept the other half. I cooked it the next day and it was delicious.
