a great alternative to the dual sense edge - not quite perfect but close.
almost but not quite perfect, some minor issues with the trigger feel (operation). Overall a solid alternative to the dual sense Edge for those who want to upgrade an existing controller rather than pay for a new (and expensive one). i'd like to give it 4.5 stars out of 5 well worth the cost and (courtesy of numerous you tube guides) fairly idiot proof to make the modification.

100% worth it for the price. The metal paddles won’t snap like the plastic ones. I recommend getting a textured back if you tend to sweat while gaming. I’ve been using them for about 2 weeks and no issues at all. The durability is amazing and it feels like they’ll never break. The customer service is incredible as well, in case you run into any problems. The paddles got delivered to me in 2 days! The installation isn’t hard at all as long as you follow a YouTube tutorial.

This is the second kit I have bought from eXtremerate and I am incredibly happy with them. If you’re like me and you’re just looking to add two buttons to the back (I do vault and reload on X and Square respectively) then this is the best kit on the market. Scuf’s controller is ridiculously priced right now and PlayStation hasn’t made any moves on an “elite” controller. QUALITY: The quality of the plastic is identical in feel, tone, and fitment. I have used the textured back as well as the gripper back, and I definitely prefer the gripper. I would say it feels like the back of an Xbox elite controller. INSTALLATION: This is the only thing that could turn some people away, but if you are even remotely comfortable tinkering with stuff you’ll be fine. It’s just about following their instructional video and screwing/unscrewing about 15 screws. They provide everything you need in the box so no need for your own tools. The instructional video is very easy to follow, I just threw an airpod in and worked simultaneously. HOW IT PLAYS: Like I said earlier, this is my second kit and it’s great. It plays just like you’d expect. Very solid feel on each button press and I’ve never experienced any input lag or anything of the sort. I have average to slightly above average sized hands, and my fingers sit perfectly on the buttons. CONS: There’s really nothing I can even think to put as a “con”. There is the option to solder an L3 button or something like that, but it’s fully optional and I just toss it aside. And the button that you press to program what buttons you want has a slight rattle, but not enough to ever notice unless you are crazy OCD about that. Not even going to knock it a star for that. Overall, this is the best kit you can currently buy, and I will certainly buy more as they seem to outlast the PS5 controller itself. Easiest 50$ I’ve spent in a while.

Habe mir das Kit für meinen BDM-010 Controller bestellt. Wenn man weder die Thumbsticks noch das Touchpad mappen will, dann braucht man auch nicht löten und das macht die Installation schon mal etwas einfacher. Allerdings braucht man dafür sehr viel Feingefühl.

I just want to preface this review by saying I am a complete layman when it comes to taking things apart and putting it back together. Also, I have only did it in the last day so I will update this review a few months down the line once I get sufficient time with it. But my first impressions are: It’s absolutely awesome kit. In fact, it helped me get to the next boss in Returnal! I wanted to do a few mods to the controller as I had seen a friend of mine has done something similar using ExtremeRate suite of controller parts. My modifications were going to be simple, with a midnight back DS5, I will add the LEDs and back paddles. I found the install pretty straight forward, however since I was doing two mods at the same time, I had to switch between two different tutorials. I would recommend to ExtremeRate to make a tutorial covering both at the same time as I can imagine these are the most common modifications. Just on the tutorials, they are excellent. I did have to put the music on mute but it is very detailed and slow. I would recommend getting a set of tweezers. I used metal, but ceramic would probably be better for a less chance of ruining the components. The wire strips that you pull out can be quite stiff so you’ll have to be patient and wiggle it out. I found the install also quite forgiving as there were numerous times I thought I screwed it up but the components (wires and such) are very robust so it all seem to work fine. As you can see (maybe, and based on the page this review is on) I got the metal variant which is new. I actually bought the plastic version a few days earlier, but hadn’t opened it. I didn’t even know the metal was coming out. I was able to return it for a very quick refund via gift card and purchase the metal. Obviously I have had no experience with the plastic paddles, but I heard they broke quite a bit. I do not suspect I will have this problem with the metal as it is metal, it will likely bend first, but there no way you are applying that much pressure. I love the “clickines” of the paddles, and changing the buttons they are assigned is super easy. Due to the fact that they are metal, they are a little weighty, but it makes the controller feel better. I like the weight to the controller. On my controller I have the PlayVital silicone sleeve which also adds a bit of weight. If you intend to get that too, you will have to cut out some of the back to accommodate the paddles. Please do a better job than I did. Sorry for the waffling, I am writing as I think about it, here is a semi brief summary: The Good: - Easy-ish install: Great very good tutorials from ExtremeRate and documentation within the pack. - Robust components: the metal paddles, metal enclosure, plastic shell, wires, all of it is top quality. - Nicely packaged component: Nothing in the box got damaged as it was tightly packaged in foam or in anti-static sleeves. - Tools: It comes with a mini screwdriver and blue plastic thing to help pull apart the controller. Which is all I need… I lie. I needed a soldering iron. I forgot to mention that I wanted the option to Map the L3R3 buttons, so you need to do a tiny bit of soldering. But it really is a tiny bit. It was pretty easy. I didn’t bother with the touch pad. - Use in game: I heard that the plastic version was overly sensitive. They have obviously revised it in this version because they had the perfect sensitivity for time I have used it. I never got any accidental clicks and when I needed to press it, the command came out reliably. - Changing the button for the paddle: As I said before, this is very easy. I know there is face button command you can do but I have opted to use the button on the back. They say press it for 3 seconds, but it more like 5 seconds. Not a biggie though. - The badass look to them: I know this isn’t a massive thing, or maybe it is (IDK). But it actually looks awesome. The ExtremeRate suit really works well together if you have the vision of a good looking controller. The Bad (Okay, I am scraping the barrel here but there are two things that I might have an issue with. - There should be a tutorial for installing both LEDs and back paddles. I reckon I would have finished the install a lot sooner had I not have to jump back and forth between two tutorials. - The back metal lid for paddle doesn’t have the click it should do when you put it on. I was putting more force into closing it than I should have since I didn’t know it was actually locked in place. I might have broken it if I hadn’t kept checking it was closed. All in all, I would highly recommend this. 5 stars!!
